Best price-point projector
I have this and a motorized screen in a VERY bright room full of big windows. Use the BRIGHT picture mode for daytime viewing and it works just fine if there is a sports game on. I use cinema or vivid modes when it gets dark. Picture quality is superb! Sharp, undistorted and accurate colors. Super happy and I did a TON of research and comparisons before buying this projector.

Practical portable theatre with fantastic picture and compatibility
Affordable portable theatre. Power on, attach source(s) select cinema mode for picture. I have designated tvs for both bedroom and living room surround systems, but wanted a screen to match the sound (living room is a circa 2013 55” lg3d tv and 3dsurround system still holding on looking and sounding great, (6” sub shakes the house, I don’t understand it, but it does) and bedroom has a polk magnifi max (1st gen with satellite speakers, and the base is unrelenting with the 10” sub, heard the magnifi max system has improved) all I do is unplug the tv from either system and plug this projector into the tv HDMI on the receiver/sound bar) in the bedroom I installed a manual 110” elite screens pulldown (priced at about $113) in living I use an outdoor portable elite screens yard master type screen by Jwsit (120”), will probably get something a little sleeker and portable for the living room. I needed portability and short throw so I first tried the $1200 optoma gt2000hdr short throw, which oddly struggled to find the source and also was grayish blue regardless of picture mode when it finally recognized the source, could’ve been a lemon, but I had read of similar complaints after researching. Both viewing areas and constraints require short throw for portability and placement. Yes I could go standard or long but I don’t want a projector suspended above my head as I sleep and I love the versitility and compatibility. It is as described, I do full optical zoom to attain ~100” at about 5’ projection distance. I am pleased.

When you don't want to just WATCH the movie, you want to EXPERIENCE it.
I bought the BenQ TH671ST in the 2020, in the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was my attempt at restoring some sense of control and normality to my family. It was, and remains the best purchase I made during that time period. This projector is a workhorse and continues to provide a great entertainment experience for me and my family.Video: Video is amazing. Movies, Series, and Games all look great on it. I'm very happy with the quality of the image and it's brightness. Menu has variety of options for color, brightness, and positioning that should help you get the perfect image you want for your setup.Audio: The onboard audio is impressive, I have a smaller living room so it fills it up nicety. I have opted to stick with the onboard audio as I never have to push it beyond 40-60% max volume.Durability: I've had this projector since 2020, about 4 years now and nothing has had to be replaced or fixed. I do occasional cleaning/dusting, but that's it. The lamp has stayed strong and bright. I'm able to watch movies during the day, with lights on, or at night. It always looks great, regardless.Overall: This is an amazing projector to upgrade your movie/gaming experience. I highly recommend it. I have a lot of faith in BenQ after this projector. In the future, I'll be looking at this brand when I eventually upgrade to 4K projection.

Best budget cinema projector
For the price, it's hard to beat the BenQ's picture quality. Out of the box, I found "Cinema" with "Brilliant Color" turned on to be the best experience. Good color accuracy, contrast and sharpeness. Motion processing is good also. For movies this is the way to go for under $1,000. The only shortcomings would be the DLP lamp creating dark gray black levels. 1080p on a 100" screen is still sharp enough, especially when watching high res movies. Although a quality high contrast screen can improve the black levels and decrease the grainy look.As for gaming, this unit lacks variable refresh rate tech, 120hz refresh rate, and 4k resolution for epic big screen gaming. So, with vsync enabled, you have to settle for 1080p 60hz locked. But the color contrast and sheer screen size will give you something else to be amazed at.
