SHARP SHARP AND SHARPER SLIM SLEEK AND SEXY
This is the second Kershaw Onion I have bought. I have had a S.S. version without the serrations and it's been in service for over 5 years. This one came in black and has the serrated edge for more rope cutting ability and so I ordered. It will take me about 3-4 months to work this one in with oil and Mil-Tec lube, but I feel confident, so much as to say, a chain link fence can get cut to shreds if the need arises. This knife is so sharp, you seriously could use it in place of a scalpel out of the box. Be careful not to drop it because the point is beyond thin and needle like sharp. You will eventually loose it if you work with it like I do. So get over the needle nose look because it's no trophy knife. But practicality and for it's universalized ability to confine and cut, maneuver and deploy, shred all sorts of fiber and thin plastics, there is no better, slimmer and finer knife on the planet.Well done and highly satisfied.EDIT 2-20-2025It's been just over 9 years since I purchased this gem. How many people bother to come back 9 years later and justify their purchase? Well this old bird decided to do just that because I got to tell you it saved my life almost 9 years later, after every day carry and standard use. The knife still operates like new but the bad guy who caught holy hell on the business end is gonna need some stitchin up before he decides to attack someone again. Not to mention new dental work on his next job interview with the local constable.OHHHRAH!

They don't like it in UK = great
One time we traveled to Scotland on vacation, and by accident I had this knife in my luggage. On the way back, it was caught by security at the airport in Edinburgh. The 'security lady' made me open it, and upon it being opened, looked upon it very, very disapprovingly. "What's this for?" she asked. I wanted to reply along the lines of, "You don't know what a knife is?", but instead replied with something vague like "I use it for cutting open bags of mulch for gardening, or de-ticking our dogs." (Both of which are true.) Sadly, my knife was confiscated, and I felt very, very bad for violating, apparently, UK law on folding, lockable knives. I also felt bad that they lack the freedoms of any sensible society relative to things as innocuous as small, if sharp, pocketknives.Anyway, this knife is great. And yes, it does work well for de-ticking dogs, since the end is pointy and can maneuver through fur easily. (Obviously, be careful not to stab your dog!!!) Also, I like the serrated portion for cutting through rope when I have to escape from airport security. :)

Best pocket knife ive ever owned.
As long as they make these, i wont buy any others. American made, sturdy, thing enough to be comfortable in my pocket all day at work, easy to open and use and then close and safely store in my pocket again, small enough to be easy to carry and non-threatening (and legal) but big enough to do whatever you need, stays sharp (if used thoughtfully), partially serrated so it cuts through wahtever you need. I love this knife.

Great EDC knife, very compact, nice-looking, and especially handy
I had a non-serrated version of this knife that I used as an EDC, but it got misplaced during my last move. I decided to get the half-serrated version this time, and I'm quite glad that I did.The scallop-style serrations work great for cutting things like rope, or more commonly, opening more boxes from Amazon (I hate using a straight edge on a nice knife for this purpose. The knife opens very quickly, almost switchblade-like (without being a swithchblade), as per its design. As a lefty, it's a little more awkward to have it clipped inside my left pocket and be able to smoothly open the blade with one hand. I've tried both clip positions, and I prefer the default. With adequate practice, I've found I can still open the blade one-handed using the palm of my hand.My one complaint is that, as arrived, the safety lock was blocking the blade even when in the open position. I would have to press down on the actual plastic part a bit to give space to allow the blade to open. I was eventually able to adjust it by unscrewing it and re-tightening it while trying to hold the plastic piece down; after several attempts, this was successful. My fallback was going to be to simply remove it altogether, as there is no point in having a speed opening if you have to take time to fiddle with the safety lock. Since then, I haven't had any trouble with it (and I didn't have such trouble with my original blade), so YMMV.

Perfect EDC
I have carried quite a few knifes in my life and I finally put the time into researching the perfect every day carry knife with all the right features. I wanted a knife that was of high quality, the perfect size for a pocket, fast action, black (because the clip and top of the knife would show when in my pocket, and black blends best with jeans and work pants), and of course, durable. This knife hit all the right marks and after 4 months of EDC and heavy use I couldn't be happier. It came razor sharp, and overall very thin compared to most plastic models. This allows it to ride unnoticed in, and clipped on the backside of my front pocket and it's small and thin enough to allow my big hand access to that pocket with it clipped. The action is very fast allowing quick easy opening with one hand. It has never opened by itself in my pocket so I removed (cut off) the plastic blade lock and am happy I did. I didn't know if I was going to like the serrations but I find myself using them more and more.
