Great sound.
Excellent sound. Very smooth and still powerful for movies.

Excellent amplifier and video quality. Mediocre software.
Sub woofers are turned off by default and you have to turn them on in options menu.Audacity doesn't work. I had to set up manually.Bi-amping doesn't allow for crossover point for HF drivers. You get the whole signal to the HF driver unnecessarily loading that amp with bass.Doesn't have XLR output or inputs.Only has setup for external amp with 13.2 pattern. You can turn off speakers you're not using. The RCA preamp outputs still work but the power amps are still running in less than 13.2.IMO Sounds better than my Yamaha RX-A6A. Runs cooler than RX-A6A. You need at least 8" above amp for cooling. 3-4" and it will get hot.Similar to my old Onyko TZ-820 but better highs and good transient response.

Great Receiver
This was a major upgrade from my Harman Kardon AVR3650. Crystal clear sound and full support for modern formats. Mobile applications and Bluetooth work well. Be advised there is a mobile app that lets you change most features on the fly. The app is great but it does cost an extra $20 ?!? This receiver is heavy :-) . All features work as advertised so far.

Huge sound improvement over my Pioneer SC-87
Great clear sound. Makes my Klipsch RF-7II speakers sound as they should. Way easier to setup than my decade old Pioneer SC-87. To use my music streaming service you have to use HEOS which I’m not sure I like. Great price and shipping.Love Amazon!

Great receiver, horrible cheap remote control
I like nearly everything about this receiver. But it does run hot and the remote control is one of the cheapest feeling and often unresponsive pieces of junk I have ever used, which is completely unforgivable given the cost.

Buyer Beware
I bought the receiver back in October of 2024 and have only used it for a total of 12 hours. I bought it as "Refurbished - Good," and was not worried about aesthetics as long as it worked. When I was able to hook it up the front left and center channel did not work and the subwoofer 1 output produced a distorted signal.Because I was outside of the Amazon return window I went through Marantz as the receiver has a one-year warranty. Due to this fact I had to send it to an authorized Marantz repair center. It took longer to receive back due to a shipping company error, and when I hooked it up the distortion was still coming from the subwoofer 1 output. I returned it to the repair center and the shipper destroyed it. I'm now in the process of figuring out how the shipping company is going to reimburse me for the receiver, because the repair center just informed me that Marantz no longer has parts for the SR8015.The entire experience has been a series of disappointments, starting with the seller shipping a defective unit. I do not know how this is even possible to list a nonworking unit as "Good," but I see the same seller is now listing the receiver for over $3,000 on this and another popular resale site. I would recommend avoiding this seller as the problems I am now experiencing were avoidable had they repaired the receiver before selling it.

Heartbroken
Marantz has been trusted and used by me for almost 4 decades. I went from a 7012 to an 8012 and now this 8015 and each has successively gotten worse and worse to a point where I wont buy another. The firmware is absolute trash. I would recommend they do the debugging in house before releasing it publicly instead of depending on customers to find all the issues.I sent my 8012 in for repair twice in 3 years and this 8015 wont even work out of the box.1) upgraded the firmware and once it rebooted the ip address defaulted to all 0's and you couldnt manually change it any longer.2.) Center channel burned out.3.) Two hdmi outputs stopped working. 4.) Center channel started working intermittently (sprayed cold spray on the channel board and it would work til it warmed up. Cold solder joint somewhere).80151.)No sub ouput from either output.2.) Settings changing on their own, ignoring the defaults i set.3.) Equlaizer turns itself off.4.) Not changing soundfield when input signal changes.5.) Bi-amp out at height 3 )wide) outputs changing settings or settings not saving. (Issue with amp assignment changing)6.)The amp assignment is just buggy especially when bi-amping or working with the height speaker config. Also i'm having to add twice the gain that I did for the 8012 to get the same spl per channel. Preamp output for my sub is so low i have to max the gain out in order to get close to the spl I end up with for my other 9 channels.Just avoid this until they fix their firmware.. other than that, it sounds great when it works.
