Amazing alternate to a dutch oven
worked so well! Bought this to bake homemade sourdough bread & it was perfect. It is light & easy to handle versus a dutch oven. And storage is not an issue.

I prefer these to Dutch ovens for sourdough
Great for sourdough. I prefer these to my Dutch ovens. They're light weight and air seems to circulate better so it gets a nice color. They're a good size also, i can fit 3 on an oven rack

Small but perfect.
This is a perfect little roaster for many dishes. I love casseroles and this is great for them. Small enough but still holds alot. Perfect size for our camper oven

Yes, you can bake no-knead bread with it, but . . .
. . . not entirely with the same results as a Dutch oven or covered cast iron. The metal doesn’t hold the heat the same, and the results do differ. I mailed this to family that I was visiting so I’d be able to bake them the famous no-knead carb magic. The loaves were great, but not quite as fabulous as I make at home. They didn’t know the difference, I did. Not entirely sure what else one does with this — as I don’t eat meat, not a roaster, but I have this for backup. I’ll put it in the suitcase for my next visit, and be happy with that.Solid replacement, but not the same. Good for a budget and if you have poor arm strength.

Great price, Very good roasting pan.
I asked my son and husband to pick up a small turkey for Thanksgiving. They came home with a 25-pound bird. I searched for large pans, but none of them had a reasonable price. I found this one, and the turkey fit in it, and the lid almost covered it completely. The cooked turkey turned out very tasty, and the cleanup was easy due to the coating.

What's not to love! Check these measurements...
I was going to give only 4 stars because other reviewers had me concerned about the pan's longevity. However, my pan has no visible defects and is uniform and solid in it's construction, the lid fits perfectly, and was bargain basement priced. Plus, I already used this pan for baking one of those "artisan" bread recipes and the bread was pretty good--so, 5 stars! As far as bread baking goes, this pan is significantly safer to use than cast-iron or clay cookers that are usually recommended for home-baking "artisan" breads. Those cookers require preheating with the oven to about 450-500F (seriously, wow!), which means the cooker itself gets to about 500F, which you then have to manipulate to get the bread dough into it. I am not that confident in my cooker manipulation skills to risk 3rd degree burns. So I took a chance that this pan would do the job without needing preheating, and would come up to temp quickly in the oven AFTER the dough is inside. And so it must've because the bread came out pretty pretty good IMHO. I would've included a photo of that loaf but the knife came out long before the camera (no one can resist a piece of fresh baked bread, yum!).The product dimension here on Amazon usually leave something to be desired (putting it mildly), so I measured mine:* liquid capacity is 3 qt (can hold more but that is about max cooking capacity)* base inside is 8.5"W x 3"H (with straight sides)* lid inside is 2" deep at center, sloping to 1" at edge (with self-basting dimples)* height 5-3/4" with lid on base* width is 10" diameter at the rim (there are no handles on the base)I haven't used this on my gas stove, but I don't anticipate an issue since it held up fine in an almost 500F oven. I hope this review and measurements are helpful.

The replacement process is crazy.
I ordered the little roaster pan. I just received it yesterday. As soon as I opened the box to inspect it, The lid was taped on, with the inside of the lid facing up, and I immediately see the chip. Then I removed the tape and checked the other side of the lid, ugh, 2 pretty large manufacturing defects there. The bottom of the roaster was free of defects. But now I had to send it back for replacement. I drove 25 miles to the nearest UPS drop off for free return. I got notification the the roaster was received, and an e-mail stating that the return and replacement would take 14 to 30 days. Well now, that's uncalled for, just a little overboard crazy waiting time, and Why? I wanted replacement, but manufacturer reimbursement is way too long
