Beware of what your buying!
the tire pressure monitoring system by Hopkins works great. ive used mine for 4 years now with great results. Now here is the issue - I bought extra sensors from PPL motorhomes and they only worked for a short period of time before I started getting sensor failures. After a call to Hopkins, im told the batteries were weak from sitting on the shelves for too long. I bought them 7 months ago and have only 30 days actual use. (if you take them off when not in use, the batteries shut down ) I called Hopkins and they confirmed that the batteries must be weak and to contact the vendor. PPL (the vendor) told me they only warranty the item 14 days for return!!!Now im out the cost of the dead sensors and have to order new ones again.. Im not happy at all and will NOT order from PPL again.. I warn all Amazon buyers to carefully read the return policy's of the vendors you buy from.

Hopkins 30101VA nVISION Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensor - Pack of 2
Hopkins 30101VA nVISION Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensor - Pack of 2Well I found these to be way overpriced. I paid $270.00 for the complete system including 6 monitors. Amazon charged me $70+ for just 2 of the monitors. They are easy to install, just thread them onto the valve stem and they are ready to be integrated into the system.I have not yet taken a trip with these sensors, so I cannot rate them fairly. They are NOT as easy as the Hopkins people claim To program all 8 of the monitors.

Good safety item.
I have had many blowouts on trailer tires when I'm towing, and I believed they all started with the tire air pressure being too low without me realizing it. Even when I have checked the tires before a trip, things happened during the trip and, not realizing it I continue driving and end up ruining at least a tire, sometime an entire wheel, hub and axle, other trailer parts, or the tire next to the one that blew out. When I saw this system it seemed like a very good idea for me. I got the transmitters from Amazon where I found them for less than the retail price. When I first installed them, I wasn't getting good reception. I called the company and they sent me a free antenna extender and the reception was fine. One day after I got the system working, while parked at home overnight, my warning signal was going off on one of the tires. I figured I must have not sealed it well when I installed it, so I aired up the tire and used the trailer. Then next morning the warning was going off again on the same tire. I removed the tire and sure enough I had run over something and the tire had a slow leak. After just one use the system has already saved me one tire problem. I think the system is great even at the retail price, and if you can find the same system for less, that's even better.

Built in battery inside not replaceable. Can not verify battery condition when purchased. Batteries have a date code and as such, they may not be the latest date code when you receive them or buy at the store if you can not verify it.

Peace of mind while traveling
After experiencing a number of blow-outs on my RV and being surprised by a low tire that almost rolled my towed Jeep, I looked for a solution I could afford. I had no wish to go through the cost and time of mounting internal monitors, which greatly narrowed the field.I settled on the Hopkins system and after more than 5,000 miles with them, I can say that they save me time & effort with accurate readings. If I hear or feel something strange, I need only look at the monitor to see if the tires have a problem. They give me peace of mind to drive long hours on the road without worry. This is a "must buy" for anyone who spends long hours on the road. Between ensuring proper inflation to improve gas mileage and preventing costly repairs after a blowout, they have saved me far more money than they cost.

These items are almost 6 years old, the batteries ...
These items are almost 6 years old, the batteries are designed for 5. You can determine the production date by looking for a number on the underside, the ones I just received where 928, that is the 28th week of 2009 this stuff is not supposed to be sold that far out of date

Tire Pressure Sensors
Returned along with entire system because sensors have to be replaced when batteries run down. Non-replaceable batteries = added expense.

Worry free towing.....
We tow an suv behind our motorhome and without this, we would not be aware of a tire with low air or a tire which has blown resulting in an expensive wheel being chewed up at 65miles an hour... and the potential for a fire. This sensor is a great product and the tech support at Hopkins couldn't be more helpful. I recommend the "repeater" if you have a larger rig, otherwise you might not be able to read the rear tires on the towed vehicle And Amazon delivered the very next day which was wonderful, as we realized that two of our sensor betteries were dead just days before a trip. Good job and I would recommend this product to anyone.
