Great surge protector!
I have used this several times recently and I'm completely satisfied with the purchase. The unit works great and I feel more comfortable now knowing that the RV electronics are safe. I really like the display and the rugged T handles on the plug ends. The other feature I appreciate is the 128 second reset delay that protects from unstable utility power that can happen right after power restoration. The packaging from Amazon for these items needs improved however...I received my surge protector in a rather large box with minimal bubble wrap inside to protect the unit during shipment. The surge protector was not in any kind of packaging or wrapped up. It was loose and able to be "rattled" around inside the box.I guess this just goes to show how well built the surge protector is as there was no damage and it still worked fine. These units are pricey but consider the alternative of replacing all of the various electronic devices in your rig that could get "fried" during a surge.

Great Customer Service from Southwire
I purchased this unit and used it for2 months without an issueI did have it trip twice during that time, but it did what it was designed to do, it automatically reset and we got out power back. Then we were at a campground and left for the day we returned to our fithwheel to find we had no power but everyone else did. It was late so I didn't bother our neighbors. This unit cleared a surge but but self destructing to save our RV. I contacted Southwire and sent the unit to them with all requested information. Today less than two weeks later I have a replacement in hand. Very good experience, plus who knows what damage could have been done to our RV. Very much worth the money.

Saved our electrical equipment
Bought one of these at the same time we purchased our fifth-wheeler a year ago. We’ve been connected to shore power in an RV park since July. At 3 a.m. today we had a lightning strike so close that my wife thought the trailer was on fire. We lost all power and I waited until daylight to check the power supply. What I found was a dead surge protector that had split on three sides with a blackened plug. When I plugged the RV directly into the power pole, everything came back on. I’m already shopping for another of these, grateful that our first one “took one for the team.” I shudder to think what damage there would be if the electrical system had been unprotected.

This one is especially nice because it will survive a significant power spike without ...
Expensive, but TOTALLY worth it. As new RV-ers, we heard all sorts of horror stories about "bad" power at RV sites. Given the cost to replace your RV power converter, spending $300-ish up-front is cheap insurance. This one is especially nice because it will survive a significant power spike without blowing like some other less-expensive units do. It also gives you a digital readout of how much each 120V circuit is pulling at any given time which is good if you're trying to watch your power consumption....aka running the AC, cooking popcorn in the microwave and teenage daughter blow-drying her hair in the bathroom all at the same time. :)

Works - Security HINT
While I was trying to decide between this and the Progressive brand one, I noticed the professional electrician with a rig next to ours had this one and so I just copied what he uses lol. Only minor complaint is we wanted to be able to lock it and there is no lock bar on this. No biggie, we just purchased about six feet of plastic covered cable and a ferrule kit at the big box hardware store, then put a tight loop over one end which cannot come off. Love those cable and ferrule things - all you need is a hammer to put them on. This way pretty safe to leave at a campsite without wondering if will walk off. Needless to say (?!) don't drive off with it still chained in place.

Good So Far. Has kicked in a few times, before I added a voltage regulator upstream.
So far so good. It has worked already a few times due to low voltage. So I needed to add a Voltage RegulatorI have added the 10175 Voltage Regulator to boost the line voltage.Note: you will need 3 pieces to totally protect your RV. You also need a Technology Research 44270 Surge Guard 50 Amp Surge Protector upstream to protect the Voltage regulator from a spike i.e. lightning strike. I didn't know that this part was needed until after I got the Voltage Regulator.Technology Research 10175 Surge Guard 50 Amp Voltage Regulator this goes in the middle. Before and after pic of the voltage. This total set up is little $$ but necessary if your a full time RV'r

Keep your RV electrical system safe
this is a great product and easy to use. I've been using an older model for years and purchased this one for my kids to use with their new motorhome. I've heard good things about the companies tech support, but we've never used it (never had a need too) so I have no personal knowledge. If this doesn't signal a safe power source, we don't take chances and just operate off the grid.

Don’t count on 24/7 protection
Quite after 7 months. Still under Original warranty. Tech was nice and very helpful but indicated there was no way to send a replacement until after the dead one is returned back to them first. We consumers are scared into buying these things by the manufacturers warning that our entire RV investment is in jeopardy without them. But appearantly there’s no urgency to replace their failed product even in the middle of a scorching Texas summer where gray outs and black outs are common with extended triple digit temps. Having no choice I will wait and hope for the best.
