Worked well
Carrier shim kit. Worked well for a gm 8.6 in my hummer h3. I could not find the quantity or thickness of the shims included anywhere online so I measured them with a cheap caliper and took a picture to help others. I only needed 2 shims for my carrier swap but will save the pack for future projects.

seem to work pretty good
The product reviews for these are all over the board. It fit my 2013 F150 fineI bought these to shim the differential carrier LEFT/RIGHT inside the pumpkin, as product description. It seems like some people bought these for pinion bearing spacing and all sorts of other things. This kit has 2 spacer packs with about 0.340 of shims in each. There is a left and right shim in each spacer pack that is about 0.050 or 0.075, one of these has a lip to hold a bunch of the thin 0.005 shims.Pick the Left shim, add some of the thin spacers, match the Right shim. Measure. Assemble another shim pack for the other side of your carrier. Mount in the differential. See how it works. It took me about 3 tries to get the correct spacing when original factory shims didn't fit after rebuilding the rear.Check your ring/pinion backlash to specifications.Buy the gear marking compound to check your pattern on your Ring and Pinion afterwards.

Very inconvenient product.
While useful it's very time consuming for 3 reasons which could be easily fixed. The first and most obvious is they're not laser marked so you keep having to go back and forth measuring rather than just glance if they were marked.Second is the combination of shims was not the correct one because everything you added lead to even numbers, for example I had a .004 and a .008 then I had 2 .012 and a .020 I needed more like a .003 or a .005 or .011 to make better combinations of what you needed, I was either too tight or too loose, I ended up sanding one of the .012 and the 0.008 giving you more time wasted on top of the extra test fits alone.Third was that maybe a couple of more shims would've been nice I mean how much could've cost the extra shims .20 cents for a $30 dollar product.anyway I made mine work but I'll be looking different srt next time for sure.

honestly... seems harder to use than a crush sleeve
I was able to get the right preload with this set, but one thousandth of an inch makes a huge difference, so it's hard to get it right. it took me a lot of test fits and seemed like more time than using a crush sleeve, but I think this is a better long term solution. My origional gear set failed because the crush sleeve crushed a little and damaged the pinion bearings over time. I recommend doing this if you don't mind extra pinion test fits. Also keep in mind that you'll have to settle for a preload somewhere in spec rather than the one you had during test fits. You can tighten it more which will compress the shims and metal more to get it closer, but it's so sensitive that you'll end up somewhere in spec, but not necessarily at the same preload as you're good pattern during test fits.

Take the advertised fitment with a grain of salt
I have a 2005 TJ unlimited with the Dana 44 rear end which is the shims that go on the outside of the carrier bearings. I double checked on Yukons own website to make sure that these (SK 30214) were compatible for my vehicle, yet when they arrived they are the style that go on the inside of the bearing against the carrier and not the housing. This caused me a great deal of trouble for several reasons. 1 I had to dig pretty deep in the forums before finding out you could use the older behind bearing style shims safely, 2 I needed to purchase additional bearings to grind down for use as setup bearings, and 3 there were not enough shins to account for the Total thickness of the stock shims so i ended up having to remove material from the thick stock outer Shims and combine them with these inner shims just to get where I needed to be.For anyone else in my shoes I would like to comment that I'm not sure if the shims listed for the Dana 44 HD are compatible with the non HD axle in the TJs or not but they certainly "look" like the ones I needed, so perhaps Yukon needs to update their parts catalog.

This is NOT a shim kit as described, rather ONE .005 shim!
Ok, here's why I gave it three stars. The description says "Wide variety of shim thicknesses". The photo shows 6 shims. Further product description"Shim Kits from Yukon Gear and Axle ensure you have the correct shims to make the adjustments you need to your differential system". I ordered this expecting a "kit". I received ONE .005 shim! To add insult to injury, I didn't get two day shipping, it was three days. That's one extra day my Jeep sat in my driveway, blocking in my car, waiting for a shim that will only partly help. I will be forced to make a double thickness gasket to serve as additional shims. In a nutshell, this is NOT a shim "kit" it is ONE single .005 shim and that is a ridiculous price for one shim.

Well worth the extra setup time, dont give up. You will get it
I just rebuilt two rearends using these kits. They are a pain in the butt trying to figure out the actual shims needed to get your proper inch pounds of pre load. Taking the pinion in and out until you get the right combinations of shims take some time and a lot of trial and error. But,..very nice once you get it correct and no more crush sleeves ever, so well worth the extra time and effort.

Yukon Gear & Axle (SK 702005) Replacement Carrier Shim Kit for Dana 44HD Differential
If that can tell another Jeeper, for this kit I received 12 shims of different thicknesses; 0.113 - 0.116 - 0.120 - 0.121 - 0.124 - 0.127 - 0.130 - 0.133 x 2 - 0.137 - 0.139 - 0.142All of these shims have an internal diameter of 2.244 and an external diameter of 2.992I was worried because I could not find the right information on the dimensions of these shims (Yukon does not specify much, it's a shame) and their locations (inside or outside of the bearings), so I read various opinions contradictory following the questions asked. So I took the risk of ordering without certainty but in the end it was with great relief and great satisfaction to receive the Shim Kit I needed to restore the Dana 44 HD rear axle of my WJ 4.7L from 2002 .A big greeting to all from a Jeeper from France

Best Solid Spacer To Use !!
I use this solid spacer for my ford 9 inch rear ends comes with plenty of shims it's a well made 2 piece spacer the only one I use when rebuilding rear ends.

Quality
Looks like it is good quality. I haven’t used it yet but have used similar before with great results

Super easy to use
These shims have a special inner and outer shim that locate the remaining shims on a shoulder. This makes driving the shims into place super easy, and they always remain aligned.

Way better than a crush sleeve!
Awesome kit. Ended up with .016" of shim along with the big spacer for my 8.5" 10 bolt
