FINS Windtamer is also a 100 per spectra braid, but with additional processing. Windtamer braid has been treated by means of a proprietary process resulting in a compacted round and smooth structure with a firm body. This enables Windtamer to pack very well on reels without pulling into itself and cuts through the wind to cast without wind knots and rod tip wrapping. Saltwater inshore fishing is a situation where Windtamer stands out, particularly for those using bait casting reels. FINS new pink color features low visibility below the water and high visibility above the water.

... Windtamer for more than five years and was very pleased with its performance
I've used Windtamer for more than five years and was very pleased with its performance. It really does produce less windknots and I find it easier to work with than the limper stuff. Bought three 300 yd. spools for my Florida vacation reels because they were cheaper than a 900 yd. spool. Go figure. Two spools were fine but the third had bad spots in it. There were green lumps in the line and at first I thought they were just dye buildup. Upon closer inspection, the strands appeared flattened and separated in these areas. Of course it was too late to return the item. I consider fishing line to be like ammunition. One failure is too many. Looking for a new favorite line.

Sewing thread ??
Literally my first unsatisfied review. Maybe I got a defective batch, I read some good reviews on this product. I have only used Seaguar Kanzen or Power Pro (thats what is sold commonly near me). I liked the idea of a line that somehow handles wind better but I'm not seeing any difference here. The difference I did see is very poor abrasion resistance. Fishing for redfish I overcasted into some overhanging mangroves twice over the course of the day. Both times I waded up to the trees and tried to untangle the line (unfortunately I get a bit of practice doing this!) and both times the line broke with very little stress. The tensile strength seems ok without abrasion although I got maybe 25 or 30 yards of the new line spooled onto my reel and the line just ended (or broke?) . I took that bit off and started over but this is what makes me wonder if I got a bad batch.Stopped on the way home and bought Power Pro.

It's a great line.
This is my first Braid that isn't Power Pro. I have been having a problem with Power Pro on my spinning rods when I am using a light lure. If the line isn't wound up tight it comes off all together when casted. It was a freakin headache! I have only used the FINS once but in the two hours of fishing I didn't get one wind knot. I have to admit I also used a different reel (Daiwa Lexa) and 15 lb FINS instead of the (Penn Battle) 30 lb Power Pro. I use a Bimini Twist and some other knot to attach my leader and so far no problems. The dye does bleed a little once you get it wet but I don't really care if it does. So far I have absolutely no complaints.

Love buying this line in bulk
I fish south Louisiana brackish water with FINS Windtamer. Truly the best braid I've ever used. I'm starting to test FINS new 40g, but Windtamer is my go to line for Trout, Redfish, and flounder fishing. I fish this line with a 2'-5' mono leader when used on topwater baits or 2'-8' monofilament leader with subsurface baits.- Shimano 300EJ Curado- Shimano 200g7 Curado- Shimano Stradic 3000FJ- Penn Battle II- Penn CFT6000

Smooth, castable, great stuff
I've tried several different kinds of braid, and keep coming back to FINS Windtamer. I use it for everything from Midwestern smallmouth bass to redfish and specks on the Gulf. It's wonderful stuff. I've had far less problems with sudden windknots and "bird nests" that I've had with PowerPro and Berkley Fireline, for example. And the pink color is cool.

Be Careful
Not sure if i received a bad batch or what? i had heard from many of my tournament friends that this was the "go to line". after personally fishing it for three trips in a row, on my last trip... i threw off three topwaters in 1 back lake drift. 1 broke 1" away from the lure, 1 broke 4' away from the lure, and 1 broke about 10' away from the lure. the trip before that one it broke twice also. all breaks happened during casting. Confidence in your line in tournaments means everything. Junk!

Tames the wind knots.
Braided line tends to form wind knots which will not come undone. So far this is the best braid I have tried. It is limp enough for performance and wind knot prevention.

Really love the wind tamer
Really love the wind tamer. Great line, casts well, very easy to work with. Just a little annoying when reeling in because the line must be a little coarse! Makes a light hum when going across guides or reel guide when reeling in.
