Can I put one tray inside another and have them nest forming a short stack?

They do stack but do not nest, you have to buy partition stackers that I found on Amazon too The ones I found range from 4.00 to 8.00 depending on who you buy them from also the price range for this one differs also

Does the tab of the file folder get stuck on the edge?

I actually use this just for mail so, I honestly don't know. Sorry.
