CARRIER Cor 7-Day Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat with Energy Reports TP-WEM01

Update from my earlier review. OK, ok... despite the sketchy box, the thermostat is great. Very intuitive set up. I changed from 1 to 4 stars. Keeping 1 star back for the poor handling or packaging job form the seller.Original review: Let’s see what happens when installed. Tape seals on box broken. Unit may be perfectly fine but I do expect a fresh looking unit for what this costs. Not too unreasonable of an ask.

We installed this thermostat 5/22. It worked for a few days. Then started reading room temperature nine degrees higher never worked again. Had a/c technician come in and worked with it, trying to calibrate and did not worked. He said they should not be selling this thermostat as they are.known to have extensive history of not working. We spent @$187 and so far JPDeals LLC, the seller, is resisting giving us a refund for a defective thermostat. Do not buy this junk.Will keep u all posted about the response from seller JPdeals LLC. Next time I purchase, will check ratings of seller too

Easy to install. We haven't uses Alexa. No need to call Tech support, which is good.

I upgraded to the Cor thermostat when my old Carrier stat died. It worked fine when purchased. The user interface is a bit strange and clunky - very easy to select the wrong button, or miss the button you want, on highly utilized features (such as turning heat/cooling off, or on again, etc.) The programming is not user intuitive, and it is not currently well-synced with home assistants such as Amazon's Echo. You can instruct Alexa to change the temperature, but not to turn the system on, off, program it by voice, etc.Most concerning, though, is that the product has stopped working almost exactly 1 year after installation. I had an electrician come out to check, and all wires (and the A/C and furnace) are working fine. However, the unit no longer interacts with HVAC system, so even though it *thinks* it is set to heat up to a temperature, it never communicates that to the furnace, and as a result I have no heat. Should have gone with a different brand with higher ratings instead of staying within the Carrier product line.

So far This work just like the center brand !!

Great Wi-Fi thermostat. Have been using the fan cycle feature to redistribute air 10 minutes every hour. Has cut my heating bill substantially. Also love the Energy Reports "Insight" feature that allows you to track system functions compared to outside temperature.

Unit arrived and in great shape. Not knowing anything about HVAC, I hired the local Carrier company to install. Out of the box it would not work! after an hour and a half of trying, $250.00, they called it quits. To make matters worse had to then pay another $31 to put the old thermostat in. The Cor looks great but it doesn't work, or at least this unit didn't.

It does what it claims very well. Need 5 wires - do not use a kit for power wire. no problems with wifi connection dropping or connecting to Carrier server
