SoftSheen-Carson Dark and Lovely Fade Resist Rich Conditioning Color, Jet Black 371

Dye used Red Hot Rhythm 376! I have never used this dye before it was super simple. I have dark brown hair natural hair (looks black) and it lifted to a perfect copper ginger color I wanted! I had natural products on at first so the test strand didn’t change much. I washed my hair, stretched, and blow dried it and added the product until it was saturated my ends, roots and scalp and covered with a plastic bag and old bonnet (used about 2 bottles with some left over). I left it on for about 2 hours because 30 minutes didn’t change anything on my hair. I rinsed each section with warm water until the water was clear and used a mixture of the fade resist moisture mask with Doo Gro Mega Long reconstructor for 2 more hours and put a plastic bag over it. Curl pattern is a bit looser but more defined which I love (no damage at all). My hair is a dark shade of copper when wet and a slightly light shade when dry. Cute, I am no professional so it did not come out flawless, but this kit is great for beginners. The instructions are easy to follow, it comes with everything you need and includes purple shampoo. I have short 4B/C hair and this was the final result after my second round of bleaching. Took a total of 2 seperate applications 1 month apart to reach this color. I definitely recommend this product!

lol it a bit bright for a blonde look but it did the job! And whatever ingredients it has in the dye kit very good for natural hair it brought out my luscious curls back! After my big chop. It even colored my eyebrows real good, will buy again !

First of all, I'm really happy with the product overall, and I actually just ordered a second box, which prompted me to write a review. I started with completely virgin, 2b dark brown hair. I am black/white mixed with a natural 3c curl, and very fine hair, but I always use a low heat iron to loosen the curl. I don't use any hair products except for raw African Shea butter and organic coconut oil. I wash my hair usually 1-2x a week, and waited 5 days from washing before bleaching. I left the product on for about 80 minutes altogether!! 50 minutes starting a half inch from the scalp, then another 30 applied at the roots. I also wrapped tinfoil around my hairline for the last ~25 minutes. I'm definitely happy with the texture of my hair afterwards, it feels completely soft and healthy in every way. It needed a LOT of toning but that's just because my hair is so naturally reddish so of course lightening automatically makes it bright orange at first. I recommend concentrated toning drops which you can apply directly to the hair, and/or add to your products. I'm going to apply again to achieve a more platinum blonde because I'm aiming for a "pink and white" cupcake Cyndi lauper inspired, more artistic look, and plan to add neon pink highlights. I recently moved from the country to a big city and I'm really having fun changing up my look to better fit the vibe of my awesome neighborhood. :) I'll update with the results.

This is the worst! I bought it because of all the good reviews but the reality is the opposite. My natural hair is dark brown hair but I have my hair as platinum silver and my natural hair is growing back so I bought two boxes of those to cover the new growth. I follow the instructions which mainly said 30-40 mins for maximum bleaching, and mixed the product as directed and use immediately as they are directing. However things went wrong fast shortly after that, I did my new growth (not roots) first since they take longer than roots and 20 mins later (after I was done) I did my roots and left them on for 25 mins, so total time was 45 for non root. I saw literally zero left from my hair and roots except only the last portion of my hair that was done which was the top (I had excess product so I layered it all on top of my hair). And even then it only bleached it to a light brown, not even close to blonde. The worst part that it says no need to shampoo afterwards ( lies, the product says in your scalp and you can visibly see it, ok no problem I shampooed my hair) the issue is that about 15 mins later I started getting a headache which developed harder and harder until got nausea and almost vomitted! I bought this because it specifically said 8 levels of lift, it barely achieved 2 ( and only for a small portion of my hair). My suspect is it’s a bad batch maybe that did not activate until 30 mins after mixing. Or if this is not the case then it is just a bad product that doesn’t work and has harmful chemicals that lead to extreme dizziness and nausea. It took me 4 hours and medicine to recover. And now i still have to deal with my terrible bleach job from this product!!!! I do not recommend, do not be misdirected by the good reviews. Even though I used a good enough portion and mixed it well and followed instructions it has been a terrible experience and I am very disappointed. PS I have been bleaching my hair on my own since 2020 to a platinum level, I never had this experience!

Works really well. I love the color. I bought two different colors and liked both. I even dyed over black box dyed hair with grown out roots and, though it didn't remove it (which it obviously wouldn't, that's not how that works), you can see the color of the dye. It stripped some of the black and the dye still showed up. I plan to buy again and keep doing it until eventually the darker hair is grown out or lightened enough since I don't wanna bleach it.
