He loves them. Perfect for practice
My son found an automated ball thrower for batting practice at a garage sale and we bought these balls online. They were the perfect balance between soft and hard so he could hit the ball but not get hurt. He’s only nine he loves it he loves just throwing the balls back-and-forth with his dad, they’re perfect for a young boy starting out in baseball who might be afraid of the ball

Spongy Baseballs
I had a clinic for kids just starting out and bought these just in case the 7 years and under kids were afraid of the ball. They are perfect sponge balls and are more of a novelty than something you will use in practice. You can probably use them indoors on a rainy day if needed. After a short time, it was obvious the balls are too light and the kids had a hard time keeping them in their gloves. After we were done learning how to catch with two hands I used them for basic hitting drills.I eventually switched to Incrediball versions of real baseballs once I felt they overcame any fear they had initially. They worked as expected and served their purpose. Now I have a dozen that I can use next time I have really young kids who need to learn the absolute basics of baseball.

No Fear of Broken Windows
Just what we were looking for. They are perfect for pitching and hitting in the front yard, without a fear of breaking windows. You can also hit them almost as far as a tennis ball or rubber ball. My 11 year old boys and I are loving hitting them.

Practice Makes Perfect
The balls are perfect for kids who want to practice hitting without damaging your house. I ordered them last week after my windshield was cracked by a regular baseball :-)

Great balls for younger kids.
These are not typical baseballs, They're made of heavy sponge. We bought these for our 7 year old nephew because they really won't break anything when he's practicing his hitting and catching alone. We also bought real balls when we can practice with him.

Quality and Durability Issues Recently
First, let me just say that I've been using the Urspasol soft foam baseball, both the 8" and 8.8" sizes, for the past 4+ years. They have been the "Gold Standard" for foam baseball IMO, and I have purchased hundred and hundreds of balls over the years. My two dogs (Weimaraners) are athletic ball-hounds, and love playing ball for about an hour each day in our acre-sized backyard. In a nutshell, I hit the ball with a plastic bat (100-150ft) and they run after it like maniacs to retrieve them. So, besides, being whacked with a bat, they do get their fair share of abuse with some dog teeth and slobber. The reason I love these foam baseballs is because they fly far and hold their form (don't get squishy soft as quickly as other brands), and they remain usable for a reasonably long time with my dogs. They take some abuse, for sure, but they generally lasted 5-10 days (depending on myriad factors) of use before being taken out of action. However, I've noticed the quality and durability have suffered after the Summer 2023. I first noticed some, many, or entire batches would be much softer and squishy than in the past - they certainly didn't perform as well. And I noticed they weren't lasting as long...perhaps 3-7 days. Now, I'm getting balls that split-in-half after only 1 or 2 days of use.Pictured is one of those balls, which split in half after only after a little over an hour (1-day) of play. The ball looks in good shape (minus the expected exterior scuffs and dog slobber, of course) but that wasn't the case. I could see this happening if the balls were left outdoors or exposed to the elements, but they brought outside from a 68 degree home into a warm, Sunny, 69 degree backyard.I have recommended the Urspasol foam baseball for years, but can no longer do so until the company "fixed" these quality and durability issues. I'm not sure if they change the materials or construction process...but something has changed, because they are not the same "Gold Standard" foam baseballs I have been using since 2020.
