Hush Puppies Men's Gil Slip-On Shoe

Have had at least one pair of these since they came on the market. They have been my everyday, comfort shoe for many years. Fasten the Velcro flap a little loose, and you have a slip-on for around the house that will become your favorite house-shoe: Cinch it a bit tighter if you want outside activity. Either way, it will nestle your feet in comfort for many years. Do not consider replacement until the tread is completely gone, and then conduct a ceremony for retirement.. First wore Hush Puppies in the 1950's. So, when I saw the name and reasonable reviews, I was sold. Had shoulder replacement surgery and will be having knee replacement surgery in several moths. So, I was looking for a velcro closure with a reasonable size toe box and what I had hoped would be a slip resistant sole. The shoe has done everything that I have wanted from it. I feel very comfortable and save wearing it. It is easy to put on and take off by myself.

11.5-D wearers should go for 12 or generally a half size up. They're remarkable light but durable so far. I like the velcro strap going to the side, it eliminates the trouser wear that crooked straight across bands cause when catching the hem of pants. They're really comfortable to walk in and I have less back problems with these than I did with Dr Scholl's cheapies. Overall they're a bit snug, but I'm sure that'll loosen with wear, but next time I'll go with the 12's. Hush puppies aren't what they used to be but they're still a cut above.

I searched on line for days and days to find a brand which featured long straps to cover the "sticky" part which tend to eat pants cuffs. One popular brand was returned with short straps. These straps are long enough, but the inside quality is the same as any other brand. The sock liner is rough (and I cannot wear socks, which makes it kind of scratchy) and the arch support does not exist. They were almost returned because the quality is the same as less expensive brands but I decided I do not need any more hassles with shoes which will always be used indoors and never outside. If you walk a lot, this ain't it.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever put my foot in. In my 91 years old and I've tried a bunch. these are the winner by far!!

At age eighty I had decided to wear comfortable shoes no matter what they looked like. What a pleasant surprise to find a shoe that looks really smart and is also the most comfortable I have ever worn. I plan to order a different color as soon as the Christmas rush is over and discard my other shoes with the exception of one pair of hiking boots to wear in the mountains.

My husband has been wearing the Hush Puppies shoe brand for almost 15 years. His only complaint about this specific shoe is the thinness of the the inner sole which provides very little cushioning. He switched the thin inner sole for a memory foam inner sole he purchased from an orthopedic shoe store. Problem solved!
