Great price. Save some big bucks like others. We had a 19 year old fnsp60 with a crack in the base. Whoever said that if you fix a crack in a pool filter just buys you time, they were correct. I fixed a 1/4" crack in our old one with marine epoxy.2 weeks later it split to about an inch and started leaking badly - then I installed more epoxy and put some of that wonder tape over it. Each time, I repaired it from the inside.The 2nd patch lasted about a week and I had a 6 inch crack on the base and flooded 1/3 of my backyard.This one is really nice. My old one had fiberglass flakes so you had to have gloves on any time you handled it. The new one doesn't have the annoying fiberglass flakes that can get into your skin.All I did to replace this was to unscrew the 2 joints going into the old filter. I luckily had one of those "Jaw" type of oil filter wrenches and it fit perfectly over the union mount to unscrew it to get the old one out, and screw it back into the new filter.The new one lined up exactly at the same height as my old one so all I had to do was to slide it into place and screw the unions back on.I used plumbers tape at all joints, including the pressure relief valve and pressure valve.I screwed the pressure gauge into the pressure relief valve, then screwed the pressure relief valve on to the upper cover. To adjust the angle of the face of the gauge, I held onto the valve and unscrewed the gauge a little until I could easily see the gauge (instead of the gauge facing the house).I did make a mistake, though, and didn't replace to big O-rings in the unions so my lower union is now leaking a bit - but that's my fault for being lazy. Just mentioning that so you don't make the same mistake as I.I was a little intimated before I did this, but I'd removed the top from my old one (DE Leaks, Replaced the entire grid assembly, fixing the cracks) so I knew there wasn't very much to this filter in terms of complexity or number of pieces and parts. It's 80 pounds and bulky, so I did have to get help from my wife and daughter to lift it over the pipes into the final location of the filter.By the way, I ordered this on a Wednesday. Amazon said it'd be there Monday, but it actually arrived early on Friday, so it took less than 2 days to arrive after I ordered it.

Bought this Pentair FNSP60 to replace a similar Pentair model that was installed in 1991 (maybe even older). The old one had a hairline crack in the bottom assembly and was leaking. I looked at options to repair, but decided it would be best to replace.This filter works great and I have no complaints. It is built of high quality materials and operates as designed and claimed by Pentair.I removed the old filter myself and installed this one with no issues. It was easy and the instructions were clear.This filter does a good job of filtering my pool water and I have no issues or recommendations for improvements to the product.I recommend this product.

Exact replacement for original, dropped right in no re-piping req'd. Quality of pool water excellent. Previou unit was 20 yrs old.

The filter arrived right when Amazon said it would, but like with some of the other customers, the box was very beaten up. After opening what was left of the box, it turned out that the bag for parts kit had ripped open also and was missing the pressure gage and valve that it mounts to. The filter assembly itself was good to go, but without those parts, I would have to wait to do the install. With a quick call to Amazon, everything was made right and I was able to install the new filter the next day. Everything is working great and my pool is crystal clear. Thank you Amazon, great job on taking care of everything so fast and without any hassles.

The local pool guys wanted $1200-1300 for a new, installed Pentair DE filter. Tending to be quite frugal, I considered the option of purchasing this myself (for $300 less than the pool guys sold it for) and installing this myself (also for about $300 less). In the end, it worked out well and I saved about $600.A few things to consider:-- The delivery was quite late. As a Prime member, I was told it would get here in 2 business days. Well, it didn't. It took more like 6-7 business days to arrive.-- When the package got here, it looked like it had been stored in the middle of the field. The cardboard packaged was water stained and beat up. The packaging had ants all of it. (At this point, I was wondering what I got myself into.)-- I watched a YouTube video and read the instruction manually pretty thoroughly before embarking on replacing the existing unit. It turned out to be quite simple. You have two connection and that's it.-- When you are ready to start the unit, you need to understand the procedure so you don't blow up the unit with too much pressure. Make sure you know how to use the pressure relief valve to bleed off air.-- Once installed, it has run like a charm.With the DE filter package sitting in my garage full of ants and water damage, I was convinced this was going to be a 1 star rating. However, after seeing how easy it was to install, I am glad I pursued this more frugal option.

I bought this to replace a 15' year old filter of the same brand and model.It was a perfect fit to my existing inlet and outlet pipes which made it very easy to install. It took me 2 total hours though that counts time to get out tools, put away tools, clean up my mess and add the initial load of DE. I was able to this 100% by myself. To make the old unit light enough to lift out of place, I ended up disassembling and removing all of the filter fins. To get the new one in, I didn't bother removing the fins but I did take off the top.My old unit kept the pool crystal clear and I expect this to do the same. I'm impressed the old one lasted so long with 10+ hours of Texas sun beating down on it every day.
