We have 2, installed pre and post water softener. Pre is using a setiment/carbon filter and post is setiment. Upon first opening, I was impressed by its solid construction. The plastic is not flimsy, the mounting bracket is very sturdy. Upon installation, for adaptors we used Sharkbite 1 inch male to 1 inch brass crimp for PEX-B pipe. When tightening with seal tape, the female threaded plastic is surrounded by metal and is sturdy so I was not concerned about cracking due to over tightening. But still want to take caution to not over tight. You will feel it when it won't go in further. We added a little bit of silicon faucet grease to the o-ring, works nicely. Everything sealed perfectly first time. Highly recommended.

After trying a few other comparable products that were way less expensive I landed on this filter housing. It is of solid construction and has the shut off feature as well as the reminder light to change the filters. The housing doesn't leak and that's the most important part.

Why buy this?: I live in an area that has wonderful water that is very clean and tastes good. I put this filter in my home because my house sits at the low point in the system, and during the winter months when they have to shut the above ground lines down, I'm also the end of the line for the system. Every water system will have valves, etc. rust and even biological contaminates in them. This filter and housing are perfect for removing those particulates and helps with scaling in appliances.Does it work?: Yes it does. I have no more particulate getting caught in the screen for my washing machine for example. It didn't reduce the water pressure in my home either. I saw that as a concern while researching whole house water filters and it did not. I have a pressure reducer coming into the house as well, that I installed the filter after in the water line, and no change in pressure.Easy to install?: Could be. I watched the install video on Amazon and read the directions. What can make the install super easy is two things.1. Buy SharkBite fittings. They have them on Amazon. Just make sure you buy the correct ones. Humans in hardware stores are great at finding the right ones for you. They are a bit pricier than standard fittings but well worth it. I put the SharkBite fittings on the filter housing first, so I had plenty of room (I installed the filter in a crawl space) and I could make sure the threads weren't crossed. Lastly, with SharkBite connections make sure you measure the distance between the connections on the filter twice (subtracting for the depth where the pipe slides into the connector) before cutting your water line.2. Choose a spot in the line where you can give yourself a little room to play with. Then you basically slide the filter in place on the line.Prep took 10 minutes and install too 15. Zero issues, the easiest plumbing work I have ever done.The fives stars for the flavor rating are for the water, the filter and housing taste awful.

Estavtrabajando y hace muy bien su trabajo me ha dejado sorprendido despues de un dia de trabajo. Lo recomiendo 100% pensando en instalar otros mas.

Solid build. 4 stars only due to same as some others had complaint about threading issue. Mine encountered when screwing the 3/4 to 1/2 adapter on the outlet side. The adapter went in slanting. Take note of this, it's real.
