My mother's skin is very sensitive. Other barrier strips made her skin red and itchy. This strips solved the problem and effectively prevented leakage.

These are fantastic, and what a difference they made, I had previously been suffering with occasional leaks from my stoma bags, and was constantly getting frustrated with the mad dash to change the bag. I bought these strips to try - i only used one each time, cut in half, and placed just overlapping the areas where I seemed to have issues. This stopped all leakages - fantastic.the only negative is that they are super sticky, so you do need to use a bit of your adhesive remover to clean off the sticky residue after removal, but apart from that they are excellent.

Absolutely awful. As a flange extenders these would be useless. Don't waste your money they are thin, small and don't look remotely strong enough to stop a urostomy bag leaking.

Barrier tapes are not very good on my skin. Didnt stick, like my others, ive used before . Plus very thin . Dont think I would buy again .

Having had problems with leakage for one reason or another I decided to try some barrier strips. I have found these to be most effective with good adhesion to both the skin and the baseplate. Two of them completely surround the baseplate making for a secure fit. I know they work well for on removing the pouch, several times I have seen the contents had leaked right up to the edge of the baseplate but the barrier strip definitely prevented any leakage. Some people say they are thin but I find they are most comfortable and don't add to the bulkiness. A small tip. If somebody else can fix them in place for you all well and good but to do it yourself, I prefer to fix them at the top and bottom rather than on both sides so after having fixed the pouch in place I fold the bottom up and just hold it in place with a small piece of sellotape until I have fixed the lower one in position. Then remove the sellotape and fix the top one firmly in place and it overlaps the bottom one making a secure joint. I just can't fault them.

I returned these as I found them very thin. Because of the nature of the items I would rather pay more and get a more suitable alternative.
