MephistoWomen's Rush Walking Shoe

I've been wearing Mephisto Rush shoes for the past 40 years or so. Each pair lasts me about five years. I can wear them to Board meetings, hiking, grocery shopping, to funerals and parties. I can look professional and I can look comfortable and I can dance in them. Yes, they're expensive and they're worth every penny to me and they're almost the only pair of shoes I own.

They run a bit narrow but I have narrow feet so the fit is perfect. These are wonderful shoes and it's too bad that Mephisto is no longer making them. I must have found the very last pair of 10 1/2 B shoes in the "Rush" model in the world.

I love shoes by Mephisto! I have had about 35 pair (different designs, including sandals, etc.) within the last 15 or 20 years. In fact, I still have this same shoe in a different color which I purchased approximately 15 years ago and it's still comfortable and looks almost new. (I care for my shoes and keep them clean and rotate them.) The workmanship is of very high quality--that's why they last for a long time. Mephisto company stands behind their shoes. (Go to their website, you'll be impressed.) I have poor feet, so when I put on a shoe, it better be supportive . . . and look great too! This shoe delivers! I can wear this shoe from early in the morning until bedtime. My husband owns this very same shoe for men; it too takes the punishment of walking over different terrains.

I purchased these because I wanted a very stout, comfortable and supportive walking shoe, and one in which my custom orthotics would fit nicely. I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis, and need really good support plus all-day comfort. These fit the bill nicely. They are not particularly fashionable, but I'm past that consideration in a walking shoe. They are also not the cheapest shoe to purchase. But, if you measure cost relative to life, I suspect they actually are the cheapest. They are built to last 10 or more years, which cannot be said of most other walking shoes out there.

I just got these shoes and really like them. They are very comfortable and well designed and I would order them again.There is one small design flaw; the tongue on this shoe is way too long and is very stiff. I am sure with some wear it will break in and be more comfortable, but it would be better if the manufacturer made the tongue more padded and not quite so long.Also, be aware that the shoe runs a bit small. I normally wear a women 8, I ordered an 8.5 because of the advice from other reviewers and they were right on.A bit spendy, but a good shoe all around. I look forward to wearing them for a long time and will probably purchase more in the future.

i bought this for a friend who is in her 70s on a fixed income and she has worn these shoes for many years and pays to have them resoled every couple of years. we were concerned because the price was so good but they are authentic and she loves them. she says when she walks in these shoes she can't feel the sidewalk. to me they seemed heavy but she swears by them and was so happy to get them

This version of a basically good model shoe didn't fit me well. I bought the original version of this style shoe over 15 years ago in white, and I am still wearing them. They are terrifically comfortable for walking, and beautifully made. Then a year later I purchased the same model in England in brown leather with black trim. They are both still wearable and in good condition. This time I wanted nubuck, and would have kept these shoes I purchased through Amazon had they fit. But they are made differently than the older model. Although I don't think a bigger size would be better, the box of the shoe is too small, and the sole of the shoe is irritating. I may try these in the regular black. I cannot recommend these now.

I think if this shoe had fit I would have really liked lt. It was very well made-just small! I was very impressed at how easy it was to return the shoe. I had never returned anything before and it could not be any more simple!
