The Fiddler Play-Along Collection - Volume 1: Violin Music from Around the World

This is a great book for a Fiddle Class. Especially if you have children playing at different levels. The easy part is quite easy and great for your new fiddlers that are having a hard time keeping up. The "Teacher" part is perfect for those students who are begging you for something harder. The variety in this book is wonderful. Everything from Christmas to Tango music. I liked it so much that I ordered Volume 2.

This is a really great book.It comes complete with backing music (piano, guitar chords, and easy second violin) in a separate book, which makes it great for lessons.The CD has complete tracks plus backing tracks for all pieces - and all are of wonderful quality. Backing tracks could easily be used for professional solo performances, while the normal complete versions are lovely just to sit and listen to.Great selection of pieces too - I have only been playing violin a year and a half, and well over half the book is fine for my current level - ok so I don't sound quite like the CD, but hey.. A more advanced player would get even more pleasure from this book, as they would make them sound phenomenal. There is so much scope in these pieces to make them sound amazing. It is most definitely not a book restricted to beginners.I will definitely be buying more from this series, and would recommend it to everyone!Top quality book containing many very beautiful pieces, playable at almost all levels.

This (and its sister book Playalong Collection 2) are wonderful. I really enjoyed sight-reading through the books. I'm going to get on and learn the pieces one by one.I never imagined that I would be playing Gipsy tunes, or Jewish fiddle music and there's even some old early-music favourites, which I remember playing on recorders from university.What a pleasure!Thank you Edward Huws Jones.

I bought this as I love to play along to cd's. I am somewhere around grade 3 being an adult learner who is not taking the exams! This book has violin parts at three different difficulty levels for each piece, the main part, an easy accompaniment or a more difficult accompaniment. I am able to play the main part to some of the pieces already and the others will be a challenge for the future.

excellent, love the selection, great for playing together with other instruments ...Ive plenty of these books in the series for various instruments, me and my 'orchestra' (I have a musicl family) have had great fun with these pieces, great for bringing the kids on ...
