Make sure it's really dark at night for good visualization. Throw the packet unopened into the fire, the color change doesn't last for a long time, but just enough for good time of watching the color changes. It's not as drastic as in the pictures, but it is noticeable! If your cooking g with thay fire i would probably use them after the fact, not before cooking.

I saw these randomly while purchasing some items for our camping trip and decided to give them a try, and I'm so glad I did. After discretely throwing a couple of the packets into the fire and then shouting "Abracadabra!", my two children think their dad is a wizard of tremendous powers.Some things to note about the product from my experience:- Wait until it's dark. You won't notice any color change if it's light outside.- There needs to be an actual flame. Just throwing the packets on hot coals will do nothing.- These last much longer than expected. I was thinking a packet would go for 30 seconds to 1 minute. I didn't time it, but they lasted upwards of 5 minutes.I would absolutely recommend these to any family going camping. It's such a fun and unique visual that is fun for kids and adults alike.

Are these cool? Yes! Do they serve any other purpose? No! The kids really enjoy them, packaging was solid.

We take these camping and let the kids throw these in the fire and it’s a fun activity for them!

I read through many different product reviews on here and I'm super glad I settled with these ones. You get a lot blues and purples at first with just a little green. Then the green tends to take over towards the end. Overall the blue and purple will last about 5 - 15 minutes and the green lasted about 30 mins. It depends on the size of the fire. A huge fire will eat through these quickly since big fires eat faster. Anyways, I recommend using two or more packs in different areas around the fire for the best effect. The instructions DO recommend that you get all the cooking done and out of the way before using these. So keep that in mind if you want to have a longer fire afterwards and intend to cook on it later.

The colors are mostly green and blue, and barely any fuschia or reds. Also, the packets burned time doesn't seem to last very long.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this on a whim and it did not disappoint. We used the packets during a memorial fire and it really brightened our spirits. These were well worth the purchase. Unlike others I’ve tried before, these were the brightest, most vibrant and longest lasting. I put one packet at each end of the wood stack and the fire did the rest. With each stoke of the fire, the color kept coming back. These will be my go to for camp fires from now on!
