worked well until I had a 'Turkey Incident' that required me to quickly remove the turkey from the roaster (see my zero star review on the roasting pan liners that suck). I spilled juice all over the meter as if fell into the sink still attached to my turkey. unintended user error.Guess what... It's not water proof. It short circuited the display, and it was Thanksgiving day, so I had to borrow one from a family member. Hers worked great. I used mine as a stress reliever and it is now in many pieces. Wasn't worth the explanation in a return... I felt better,and nobody was injured in the process. My fiance got a good laugh. Be sure to disconnect from food if you have to move fast and there is a possibility of the unit getting dragged into a sink.

Honestly, this is the best meat thermometer I have ever used. I bought this for Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving, and it was one of the best gadgets I purchased for those two days. It worked right out of the box (after I put the batteries in), it was simple to set the temperature that I wanted the meat to hit, I could easily turn the alarm on/off, and the cord was more than long enough to run from the oven to the display stuck onto the oven door by magnets.My one nitpick, and this is petty, is that the thermometer came preset to Celsius, so I had to switch it to Fahrenheit. Again, petty, but I have nothing else bad to say about this thermometer besides that.

Used it several times so far, nice as oven temp probe and internal turkey probe while cooking our Thanksgiving meal. It came in very handy, as our dual oven temperature probes were not working over the holidays and this was a lifesaver. Easy to use, display is large and informative. We do a lot of BBQ and smoking on our Traeger, so I know it will get los of use.

Works well. My only complaint is that the clock is constantly on and that the device can't be completely turned off.

Stay away. I received the item on a Saturday and used it same day for racks of lamb in the oven for a large gathering we had that night. Worked fine for just about 10 minutes before it became crazy with the digital display jumping all over the place and showing crazy high meat temperatures of 400F or higher. Had to send my son to our local Cooks Warehouse to buy me one to save the night.

I bought this in November and use it on and off. It just stopped working when I was making pork chops last night and needed it! So I am so bummed.

Wire is fragil.

Works great, very helpful when cooking.
