[2 Pack] Samsung Gear VR Face Foam Replacement - Virtual Reality Replacement Foam - Extra Thick Cushion

The Samsung Gear VR is a very intriguing device, but those of us cursed to wear eyeglasses, it tends to be a bittersweet experience. The Gear VR lenses and/or face seal are too close together, causing eyeglass lenses to come into direct contact with the goggles optics, even with my close fitting, small eyeglasses. That in turn causes the bridge of the eyeglasses to press against the wearer's nose, which quickly becomes very uncomfortable, ruining the VR experience. Loosening the head strap relieves some of the pressure, but makes for a sloppy fit and light leakage, also ruining the experience. I also tried without eyeglasses, and simply using the focus wheel to correct my vision, and it comes close at the extreme limit of the focus wheel adjustment, but is not quite there. (I must admit, without eyeglasses on, the Samsung Gear VR is exceptionally comfortable, and really wish it had just a little more focus range) I finally turned to seeing if a thicker face seal/pad was available to space the goggles slightly further away from the face. Sure enough, I found these, which are of quality equal to the OEM seal. I wasn't so sure they were going to be thick enough when I unboxed them, but spaced the goggles away with even room to spare! The goggles are now as equally comfortable with glasses on, as they were when not wearing them. Exceptionally pleased, and even better, it is a two-pack at a great price, how can you go wrong?

I love using my Samsung VR Gear, but one of the things that I really don't like about it is how it rubs up so tightly against my face that it causes abrasions. After a few times of this I got tired of it and went looking for some sort of relief. I read about replacement for the foam padding which surrounds the inside edge of the glasses. Seeing as how this was the most likely issue, I looked through the various products on offer at Amazon and selected the one that appeared to offer the most padding. When I received it and installed it (which was extremely easy, just pull the old one off and stick the new one on-- it's all done with velcro), I was disappointed that it didn't really seem to provide that much relief-- or even any relief. It still feels about the same and the glasses still ride uncomfortably sharp on my face and cause all the same problems. I don't think the padding is much thicker, if any at all. I didn't measure it though so I suppose it could be marginally thicker. My advice though would be to save your money and cross your fingers that someone will come out with a truly better version, one that offers significantly more padding and thus real relief from the problem of heavy sharp VR glasses cutting into your face. I don't think this product is really it. The new padding did ship quickly, though it did not come with any instructions at all for how to mount it on the glasses. Had I not read somewhere else that it was done with velcro, I wouldn't have known what to do.

If you use your Gear VR for an extended period of time or share it around the family, the face foam cushioning gets flattened and quite frankly a little disgusting. These replacements are better than the original and let less light in. They were sent to me quickly and with great follow up service. Highly recommended.

I use these on my white consumer version of GearVR. They fit perfectly on the headset. I wouldn't call them extra thick but they are noticeably bigger and more comfortable than the factory cushion. I was looking for something about the size of the two combined so that's what I did with the two pack. I used some soft velcro cable ties to hold the two together and use the set as one big foam piece and it's perfect for me.

I'm using this for my Pimax 5K Plus. It's not thick enough to push the lens away from your face. They do block the light bleed from below though, but the photos game me a different impression of how thick it was.

Great product for my vr headset. Especialy on the bridge of my nose
