Excellent pen! Tried the tekchic which is close in cost and there is no comparison. TrueArt pros ... super easy to change the tips. No heat transfer to fingers which means you can hold the pen almost to the tip. LED number display of the current voltage makes it so easy and fast to adjust temps. Comes with a great case to hold everything. No cool down when changing temperature. Heats quickly and cools quickly when turned off. Cons... have to unplug machine to completely shut it down. No ball tip. (At least I can’t find one). Overall this machine not only does the job, but makes it easy and faster. It was worth every penny!!

I am a retired person with decades of woodworking, wood carving, cabinetmaking and carpentry experience. And loaded with tons of tools from over the years. And THIS, is a really nice tool, complete with 20 tips and a cleaning pad. (I believe you can get other tips to fit as well) Since this is my first attempt at wood burning I wanted to get a unit that would be easy to set up and learn. I had a few questions and the manufacturer was excellent in responding and answering any question I had and sending me a PDF manual. I see it as a reliable and factory backed product which gave me a comfort zone for something I had no experience with in the past. Yes, it is more expensive. But I have learned that you get what you pay for, and this is worth it. It heats quickly and cools fairly fast too. You will have to get used to, and test what temperature setting you will use, which will vary with the types of woods you select. Hard woods, a little higher and the softer the wood, the faster the burn. Bottom line: I certainly recommend this tool.

I've had this burner for three years now and have recommended it at least a hundred times. It has tips for all needs from shading to lettering and one for extreme fine detail. I love that this burner holds its heat consistently, yet does not burn my fingers while holding for long periods of time. I'm a full time pyrography artist and there are days I burn for 10 hours + without issue. The tips are easily exchanged with the tools provided. It came with files, a very nice carrying case, and enough tips that even after 3 years, I still haven't needed to buy new. I love this burner! Great product!

It shows several different tips. However I got 5 of the same u shaped tips. The picture shows the u tip with different heads or thickness. Not what I received. I do like the burner. It is hard to get the tips in perfect. The pen humms if you don't have it in correctly which means you have to loosen it and then tap it in and tighten. Losing some of the appeal of quick heating and changing. I would have like to have had some of the razor tip included in the price, now that I know what each one does. I have used only the old fashioned burner until now. I still need to use it for certain tips. I would buy this again,, but would ask for the razor tips to be included instead of repeat tips.

I really like upgrading to this set which provides fast dialable heat settings and two pens at the ready for different nibs. Exchanging nibs is also seamless. The case has just enough room for what comes with this set, and is quite sturdy. I was pleasantly surprised at how much came with this set for the money.
