Nil Unlocked (Nil Series, 2)

Team Rives!
I loved book 1. The characters were fabulous and the plot was phenomenal. In book 2 you have a completely different dynamic. You have new narrators, new characters and a desperate NIL. The island has shifted after Thad and Charley departure and it leaves Rives and NIL a little out of sorts trying to recover from such a huge loss. I can't begin to imagine dealing with that loss and aftershock. It made me heart sing at the end of the last book and inside I was flipping off NIL in my mind. Then we have a new force that comes on the island named Skye and you know that she is going to be a challenge for everyone and NIL.I loved how it flowed naturally even with new narrators. It felt very organic and effortlessly. It was hard to pick a favorite but I had to. My favorite character is Skye wait no it was Rives, wait no it is Skye. It is impossible to choose because they are so different but yet their journey is similar. I loved Skye because she was never going to quit and didn't let NIL in. I loved Rives because is inner journey was deep and complex. I loved how he took on the role as Leader and did a remarkable job. He is such an amazing character but without Skye he wouldn't be. They are each others yin and yang.I actually had two favorite moments. My first one was when Skye popped out of the bushes and introduced herself to Rives. It was a shocking moment and it was just so Skye. My second favorite moment was the ending. I'm not going to say much because I don't want to spoil anything for anyone but it was a special moment and an ending of sorts.I just love this series and I'm glad I stumbled across it. It just feels feels like you are apart of something bigger. I am going to recommend this series to all of my fires. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I literally have no idea what is going to happen.

Another good read
Great sequel to NilYou return to the island with hope to resolve. Didn't get as much of the "Island paradise" out of it but the goal and hope of leaving the island was strong. Not sure I like the idea of Nil having a mind of its own as highly portrayed. But looking forward to reading number 3 I hear it has the best trilogy ending

Not the same characters???
I bought this as soon as I finished the first... And soon realized that it's not even based around the same characters! I fell in love with the characters and wanted to see them again. I'll try it, but I can't hide my disappointment...

Even better than the first book!
I thought this book would be the same as the first with just different characters but it has new and very interesting elements.

NIL was just too good.
I took a break from reading another book when this one came out and now I'm way less interested in returning to the other book. NIL was just too good.
