Brilliant bit of kit
So glad I finally bought a bench supply. And checked on videos online to see which one is best at this price range. It does so much more than the cheapest ones.If you set the current limit, and it is reached it tells you it is in current limit mode and then the voltage drains down. You can also set it to shut off with Over Current Protection, where an alarm will sound and it will cut power.I found the leads more than adequate with the alligator clips and spade terminals, which I prefer to the banana clips.Readout is nice and clear with a fairly good update rate so you can see changes happen quickly. You can even adjust the baud rate in the options to make it quicker and lower the screen brightness.USB port also came in handy, although you cannot read the current draw for this, and the manual doesn't mention what it's limit is. I powered an Arduino and charged a phone off it, so it was fit for purpose.Adjusting everything is easy with pushing the knobs to change which digit you want to adjust to do fine or rough adjustment from 1 / 0.1 / 0.01 etc. It would be nice if it remembered which digit you were last on though, as it keeps defaulting to fine adjustment and takes a bit of remembering to push it first before turning it.Only thing is the beeps are a bit annoying, which wasn't a problem at first, because the manual lets you turn it off by going into settings if you hold down the output button for 5 seconds. However, it doesn't remember what you set each time you turn it off so have to do it all again every time. This is silly because it remembers all your other settings, even when you unplug. I might just open it up and cover the buzzer with a piece of tape to make it less noisy.

Fantastic DC Power Supply – Compact, Precise, and Feature-Packed!
Fantastic DC Power Supply – Compact, Precise, and Feature-Packed!I recently purchased this adjustable DC power supply, and it’s quickly become one of the most valuable tools on my workbench. Whether I’m working on electronics projects or need a reliable power source for testing, this little unit delivers on all fronts.Accuracy and Performance:The 4-digit display is one of the standout features of this power supply. It provides precise voltage and current readings, making it ideal for projects that require fine-tuned adjustments. I tested its accuracy with a multimeter, and the readings were spot-on, even at lower voltage and current levels. The 0-30V and 0-5A range is perfect for a variety of applications, from powering small components to more demanding devices.Build Quality:Despite its compact size, this power supply feels solid and well-constructed. The metal casing gives it a premium feel, and the design is sleek and modern. It’s lightweight yet sturdy, making it portable enough to move between workspaces without compromising durability.Ease of Use:The encoder knob is a game-changer. Adjusting voltage and current is smooth and precise, with no lag or jitter. The ability to toggle the output on and off is a great safety feature, especially when working on sensitive electronics. The intuitive layout of the controls and display makes it easy to use, even for beginners.USB Fast Charging:The inclusion of a USB fast-charging interface is a fantastic bonus. It’s a thoughtful addition that allows me to charge my phone or power USB devices without needing a separate charger. This feature alone makes it more versatile than other power supplies I’ve used in the past.Features I Appreciate:High Precision: The 4-digit display ensures you get detailed readings, which is essential for precision work.Output On/Off: Being able to control when the power is delivered adds an extra layer of safety.Compact Design: It doesn’t take up much space but still delivers the performance of larger units.Quiet Operation: It runs quietly, even under load, which is a big plus when working for extended periods.Pros:Highly accurate voltage and current adjustmentCompact and lightweight designUSB fast-charging port for added convenienceIntuitive encoder knob for precise controlReliable and quiet operationGreat value for the priceCons:The backlight on the display is quite bright, which might be a bit distracting in low-light environments (a dimming option would be a nice addition). The fan can kick in at higher loads, but it’s not overly noisy.Supplied Cables are not brilliant. I'll swap them out for multistrand, silicone wires. Conclusion:This DC power supply has been a fantastic purchase. It’s precise, versatile, and packed with features that make it ideal for hobbyists and professionals alike. The compact size and USB charging port are icing on the cake. If you’re looking for a reliable and accurate power supply for your lab bench or electronics projects, I can’t recommend this one highly enough!

Nice Form and Function
I have been meaning to get a PSU for ages and had this one in my wishlist for a while, picked up the 30V / 10A version for £60 on Prime Day excellent. I doubt that I will need 300W of power, but always nice to have under the hood for the same price as the 150W PSU. The unit is surprisingly small but well specified and not short on features. The buttons have a reassuring notched click to them when turned, and they also beep, however I quickly turned off the beeping using the system settings menu. The white LED on black display is large and clear and a definite upgrade to the retro red LED displays. As displayed in the photos the unit is very accurate and should be fine for most applications, bearing in mind that slight inaccuracy may be due to test leads having some resistance, and also test meters may also be slightly out of tolerance, unless you are a lab tech using properly calibrated equipment, this should be a welcome addition to your test bench. Inside the unit is neat and tidy, and uses suitable gauged cable and connectors to handle loads upto 10A, with quality components. The fan does not cut in often, but when it does it is reasonably quiet. The USB quick charge port, fast charges the latest Samsung Galaxy S22 phones with no problem, I do not have an iPhone but I guess it will work equally as well. This leads me to my minor grip with the unit, the binding posts are cheap as chips, they are okay I suppose, but not the type that I have been used to. There are no holes in the posts to thread cables through if you are out of banana plugs, or want to link the terminals together, and the black knobs can actually be unscrewed completely from the posts which could lead to them being lost? As someone also posted that one of their binding post snapped off, I decided to swap them out for some others that I found on Amazon 'CDL Micro Binding Terminal Posts', and they are much better quality. And yes I did intend to swap the position of the -ve and +ve posts, just didn't seem right. Also if you are after a pdf version of the manual head over to wanptek.com where you can download a copy.Overall very pleased with the product, it is solidly built, has great functionality, and I got it at a great price, just go easy on the binding posts.
