The AVID TOURING-S is Yokohama's Standard Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans and minivans. It was designed to combine ride quality, smooth handling, durability and traction in any season, including in light snow. The AVID TOURING-S uses Yokohama's Tri-plex Tread Compound to provide long tread life and all-season traction. This compound is molded into a symmetric tread design that features Silent Shoulder variable tread block sizes and a central Twin Rail Stability Rib to reduce tread pattern noise while offering confident maneuverability. The intermediate tread blocks feature Tapered Rain Channels working in tandem with circumferential grooves to help evacuate water and enhance wet traction while Cross Traction sipes provide biting edges to increase traction in wintry conditions. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by nylon belt edge strips on top of polyester body plies that are stabilized by tall, tapered rubber sidewall inserts for better absorption of bumps and road vibrations.

At last, a good quiet tire!
I got these for my 2002 V6 Camry. This car has over 200,000 miles on it, 140,000 of them mine, and in all those miles I never found a really quiet tire. I've tried Continentals, Firestones, Goodyears, and Michelins, of which the Michelins were the best, but none of them eliminated the tire noise, it just changed pitch. So the only thing that got my attention in the reviews for them was the word, "QUIET". I couldn't find these tires in town but I wanted to try them anyway, that's why I bought off Amazon. After making the order, they were here two days later.I have no way of knowing how long they'll last so I put 5 stars, since there was no reason not to...The tires might be a bargain price, but the installation sure wasn't - $60 for two. But at long last, I finally have quiet tires! Haven't driven them long enough to say anything about anything else about this tire, so I won't - but I do know they are the quietest tires I've found.

2002 camry, the quietest tires that have been on it
got a fresh alignment and balance on the tiresnew struts and tie rodsthese tires are as good as i wanted them to be. over the last 50 years i have had a few sets of Yokohamas never had a bad set.this camry a 2002, has always had intense front tire noise. i have replaced the axles and the wheel bearings.and at least 3 other sets of tires trying to find something quietto be fair i have only put about 1,000 miles on them. but so far they are actually quiet.do not know about extreme breaking or cornering.... just don't do thattruth is i am very happy with these tires. they balanced out very nicely no vibration at alldid i mention they are quiet.they seem safe in rainstorms

Good tires at a reasonable price.
The tires are great. The shipping however was not. this is the second time that the UPS driver has left an order of tires on the outside of my gate at the back of my house. I had no notification that the tires were left there on either occasion. They VERY VERY easily could have gone missing. This time i monitored my security cameras and laptop all day long. And finally a delivered notice popped up on my amazon account never did see the truck on my cameras. The tires that fed ex has delivered have never been left in this manner. Their drivers stop at the front of the house where my cameras pick them up . I then can wave them around to the back and open the gates to let them in. UPS could learn a lesson from them!! AMAZON i will not continue to order anything expensive from you if the delivery is this shoddy!

restored the handling on wife's Forester -- amazingly quiet with tenacious grip
The original tires for my wife's Forester were running low so I looked at replacements. These tires actually have a lower speed rating (T versus H) than the stock tires however they are the correct size. For reference, a T means the maximum safe speed to drive is 118 mph; an H denotes a safe speed of 130. Since my wife doesn't regularly travel above 105 mph, these tires seemed like they'd be a good match ,,,. and I was right. The tires look fantastic on her car and are nearly silent when driving on the highway. They're amazingly quiet and stick to the road tenaciously. The grip is apparent when driving through rain and, especially, wet pavement with either a painted or tarred surface. With the old tires, turning on those extra slippery surfaces would produce squealing, these tires produce no noise, just traction. I would purchase the Avid tires again in an instant as we're very happy with the feel and performance. They been on for Forester for several months and have no apparent wear.

Tread Separated, Unsafe to Drive
I had four of these on my car when I bought it used. I had to purchase another from Amazon because one of the four had the tread separating. I wanted to keep the same brand on my car and seeing I felt I had a lot more miles to put on the original three I bought the one to match.Regardless the other three started going bad with separating tread on them. The car pulled to one side so bad that it was unsafe to drive. I finally bought four different tires and now my car runs straight and true.I wouldn't recommend these to anyone. Worst tires I have ever had on a vehicle.

Wouldn't put anything else on my car
Just purchased my second set of these as the first set lasted me for six years believe it or not. They're still holding up but time to replace them. These tires are great in the rain, and great in the snow. If you could see how worn these tires are on my car and how they held up driving through a rain storm and through deep puddles you would be amazed. I've had Goodyears, Kumho's, and some other brands on the car over the years but nothing has been a perfect match like the Yokohama's are. I'm extremely particular about my tires as my other car I do racing with and when I want a tire I go for one that can handle what you want to throw at it. These are exactly those tires and knocking on wood can't believe I've never had a flat in 6 years. Dang tires going outlast the life of my car at this rate.

Really like these tires
I bought these tires to use for a 69 vw bug i'm restoring. I ordered (2) 195/65r15 for the rear. These tires will be mounted to Empi 8-Spoke 5.5" rims. Tires are delivered raw (without any box) which was fine all tires arrived in perfect condition. I checked the dates on the tires and both were manufactured in 2019. First time in my long life have I bought a tire so new. Check the dates on your tires ,all tires have them. Just be concerned with the last 2 digits. I'm really happy with these tires, $77 each, you can't go wrong. If they ever wear out before it's my time to leave this world, I will surely buy them again, hopefully at the same price. Best of all MADE IN AMERICA!

Great Tires for this Price Point.
Excellent buy for the price point. Tires arrived without damage and are quiet, and smooth for a Toyota Camry. They look to be built well. There is no telling for tread life as it’s too early to know; but I’m trusting they will reasonably last. These specific tires are rated at 65k for tread life, but folks should realize that this is a general estimate. It all depends on how you drive, what roads you drive on, whether the tires are inflated properly, and so on. If they last 65k then great, if they last 50k, I’m satisfied considering the price paid. I always had good success with Yokohama, and don’t think this purchase will be any different.
