I remember, in the not so distant past when you bought 1st generation USB devices there was a level of uncertainty as to whether a device was going to work with your OS and machine. That has gone away. Today you expect every USB device you plug in, to work automatically. These thumb drives are no exception.I purchased two of them, and they connected immediately without me having to do anything. I have some photos and videos that I am transferring over and both have taken them no problem.The one issue I have is the consistency in capacity. I bought two 64 GB drives, at the same time. When I plug them into the same machine I am told that one has 57.2 GB of space, and the other has 58.7 GB of space. This is right out of the box. So one is only capable of storing 89.3% of the advertise data amount and the other 91.7%.First off is the question why not 64 GB? Is it the formatting? The software that comes pre-loaded on each drive only takes up 11MB, so that is not the reason. The drives should ship with at least 99% over the advertised capacity.Second, why would two (supposedly identical drives) read a significantly different amount of space available. The difference is 1.5 GB.Not sure the reasons for these discrepancies, but I can't rate them 5 stars when this happens. However, they are still fast and easy to use.

I use it as a backup for mp3 files and it holds a lot of them. No problems with it so far.

Didn't cost me a dime out of pocket and I feel the value is superior to anything your going to buy at Walmart, Bestbuy etc.This has some proprietary software installed see: [...] it comes with the basic version but will allow you to upgrade to a pro version for a discounted price because you already own the SanDisk thumbdrive with it installed on it.I like this thumb drive alot because I am a police officer and I carry around all my reports on it which contain a lot of personal information i.e. SSN's and peoples vital information. This thumb drive allows me to encrypt all of my reports and data into a secure vault on the thumbdrive that requires a password to access. I also like the fact that I can use it like a regular thumb drive and place non sensitive items that I use frequently such as mileage logs and daily activity reports outside of the vault and can click on them without having to go through the vault access every time. It also has a nifty time out feature built in that allows the thumbdrive to lock itself up after a time that the user sets. This way if you walk away from your computer and you leave this plugged in, depending on how short or long you set the time it will require the password after that amount of time if there is no activity. This keeps wandering hands and eyes off of your data..I would recommend this to anyone looking to store sensitive data in a small package.

SandDisk has been my GoTo temporary storage device for a number of years and outlives many other makes. It input output speeds are as good as, or better than many others and they outlive the life of many others.

Bought this USB drive for my PS Classic. I must say, it was a pain to get it formatted from exFat to FAT32, as you need to get a firmware to format it. But it's doable. But, overall, it is a nice drive

as I said, its big but its slow. like an offensive lineman. especially for the price you can't beat the portable capacity.ANOTHER PLUS: its gone through my laundry cycle 3 times and the rain and its running no problem. not sure if thats a Sandisk quality thing but man am I happy about that.

I like the idea of 64gb of flashdrive because I can accommodate videoclips on the device for the simple idea of storage because of the size of a videotape, and having it with me when I want others to view videotapes that were recorded inserting the device in another computer in another location when visiting.

I purchased it a while ago and waited to see whether it survives the test of time. The reason for that was obvious – my previous flash drives fail after a few Copy/Delete/Replace files activities. This device, however, still works like a charm! No doubts for me now – I will buy a few more of those sticks to keep my work on a go. Excellent quality! Great device!
