I got these for work. And im happy I did. It’s hard to find comfortable shoes that I can work in and look good in too. They are high quality and fit nicely.

I've owned several pair of Salomon tactical boots, but this was my first pair of their running/trail shoes. I paid quite a bit of attention to other reviews before ordering a pair and spoke with friends that have worn them as well. The shoes did not disappoint. I have worn them for moderate hiking and predominately casual use and have found them to be lightweight, comfortable, breathable, and as sturdy as I would expect from a brand such as Salomon. The laces in particular are consistent with their tactical boots, thick and robust; not thin like the ones found on the Salomon Speedcross line. I'm very particular about the shoes I wear and not only do I expect comfort, but I also demand durability. I remain a satisfied and loyal Salomon customer.

These are very high quality, but are lacking in a few areas. I'm about 700 miles in for 50 days working and 20 off days as a cart pusher and loader. They show a good amount of wear and I'm willing to bet I'll wear a hole in the toe box, the sockliner in the heel has multiple holes. All that wear may sound like a lot, but that's standard for me. My usual addidas hikers blow out fully in 5 months, but these are a notch above and I think I can push these longer by a few weeks. These could be improved a lot with a tounge gusset and thicker sole or insole for comfort. I like the outsole design as they still have sharp lugs even though they are worn flat. The fit is roomy enough compared to my last solomans which were alphacross peaks and they were way too narrow. Hope that helps I'd buy if you can find a deal, otherwise get cheap shoes if you have a similar purpose. I recommend walmart interceptor boot or xpeti here on amazon if those are your style.

These are excellent for daily around town use with occasional off-trail wandering... They are rugged (as Soloman brand always is), comfortable, and have an excellent tread for wandering onto nearby hills...

Great quality shoes. It came without the original box but the Amazon shoe box was good. Shoes were new. No other packaging materials in the box.

If you’re looking for a shoe that’s light and gives you a lot of support, this is the shoe. I have foot problems and this brand and one other are the only shoes I’ll buy. I mainly use this shoe for hunting because of the traction on the soles, comfort, light, and very supportive.

I used a pair of Ultra 4 for a year on hikes ranging from 3 to 8 miles. The Ultra Pioneers are as good in most ways and better in one key feature. They have equal levels for traction and stability. If you are scaling rocks these are very sturdy with exceptional grip on sandy, dusty rock. Time will tell if they are as durable but it’s all the same material so it should be fine. Where they’re superior is the lacing. The Ultra 4 has an auto lacing system that I did not like. It was impossible to tightening differently from bottom to top and it constantly loosened on hikes. The Ultra Pioneers has standard laces which I find to be much easier to get the right fit. YMMV. Overall, great hiking shoes.
