The HDVA 600 Will Be Gone Soon, So You Need To Act Quickly, Real Quickly!
The previous review said if your a bass head, don't consider this amplifier? If there is bass in the music being reproduced, it will reproduce it. The thing that stood out in my mind is the piece is so beautifully constructed, and "much" engineering went into the HDVA 600 as well as the HDVA 800, but this unit has now been discontinued, however, it is exactly like the HDVA 800 without the DAC. Now for me, the DAC was something I did not need. As Sennheiser chose to use the older, HP DAC in lieu of say a newer SABRE DAC, I just stuck with the HDVA 600. I am using this in conjunction with an Oppo 105 D that does have the SABRE DAC, amplification is Parasound's top shelf HALO amp, pre-amp and phono stage, and this was a perfect match, functionally and aesthetically. For those of you that enjoy using your computer as your source, as many people do now, I would recommend the new Media Center 21 to store and play your music, and if you want a sound signature with tremendous bass or all tone controls defeated, Media Center 21 can accomplish that, if you change the Media Center settings with any of their equalizer setting, you can change the entire sound signature of this amplifier and your HD-800 headphones, and it pumps the power out. You WILL NOT require a better headphone amp than this, I can assure you and it has not one, but two Balanced Headphone Outputs!! It also has a balanced pass through if put in line, between your pre-amp and amp. Just a beautifully engineered piece of equipment, you better jump on it while there are some left, because when they are gone, they are GONE for good. Sennheiser will be coming out with the newest "black" version of the HDVA 800 in the next month or so, and it will probably sell for about $2,400.00, which makes this one even sweeter, don't hesitate or you WILL loose. Enjoy the music!

Great sounding amp.
Great headphone amplifier. Has both xlr balanced and rca single ended connectors. Beautiful full range sound. Can connect several headphones at once. Highly recommended.

Fantastic!
Love the sound. It is much better than the two Nuforce class A HA200 headphone amps wired as mono blocks.

You should get this amp if you owe HD600/650 HD700 or HD800
I pair HDVA600 with either Sony PHA-3 DAC/Amp or Creative Lab E5The HDVA 600 Amplifier allow Sennheiser HD700, HD600, and HD650 to reach the full potential.

refined
Sophisticated, accurate and detailed sound, superb richness of timbre. Perhaps not the best macrodynamics but striking microdynamics, deep and wide convincing soundstage. If you are looking for punch or if you are a basshead, I do not think you need this amplifier. But if you listen to classical music, you will appreciate this device highly.(However, I strongly recommend listening device before buying!)PSOf course, requires balanced connection for amplifier and headphone (HD800) and an appropriate level source (DAC).PPSI am no longer interested in tube amps.Actually, I have no interest in any amplifiers.I use HDVA600 for a year and completely satisfied.
