Jalapeños are unpredictable in terms of heat but I love the flavor. This powder provides the taste I love and the adjustable level of hot for all tastes. It's the perfect solution to those who can't have the seeds due to digestive problems. I've had the chance to try other Judee's products and have been very happy with them, but this jalapeno powder is my favorite! I'm in love with this stuff- it's of excellent quality, and very delicious.This powder comes very finely milled in a sturdy resealable bag, and is easy to mix into foods. I really like the heat and jalapeno flavor this gives to my foods, almost like a fresh jalapeno was chopped up without having to bite into the pieces (my boyfriend likes the taste, doesn't like to bite into jalapenos).I love how easy it is to control how much heat I want, as well as predictable in the heat added. I use about 3/4 teaspoons of this powder in my ranch, but I'll admit that I keep adding more each time, lol.I used to make cheese stuffed raw jalapeno peppers, and found that some lacked any heat, and that was disappointing. Then there's the ones that set the mouth on fire with one bite and while I like that- others in my house don't.This powder also takes away the hassle of having to use food prep gloves for working with peppers, or (like me) using a heat-removing scrub of baking soda, salt, sugar, and a touch of dish soap.This powder is wonderful for not having to worry about using up fresh produce before it goes bad. No concerns about a store run to pick up forgotten peppers for that one special dish, no worries about not buying enough or too much.I've been using this powder in ranch dressing for a spicy kick with my side dishes and snacks, and mixing it into salsas that I find to be too mild. It's also excellent dusted onto pizza, and the flavor seems to work better with pizza than my usual cayenne, and more pleasant to eat than red pepper flakes.A lot of people are saying this bag is going to last them a while and I don't doubt that it will for me also, even with how much I use. A little bit of this versatile powder can go a long way, it's great for anything I can think of to add delicious heat. It can be a problem to cook with whole peppers because you have to prepare them and it can be hard to control how much heat you put in without wasting some peppers. With this Jalapeno powder all those problems go away. When you want to add some heat and flavor to your morning eggs? Just open the bag and sprinkle in some powder!This actually does taste pretty much the same as fresh Jalapenos and has the same aftertaste and heat that lingers and slowly fades. But is much easier to use because the fine ground powder is very uniform and predictable. You can just add it into your cooking till you get the amount of heat/flavor you want and it will be evenly in the whole dish without hot/cold spots. Also good for those who want the flavor but just a little heat, they can mix in just enough to get the flavor they like.I could see a whole lot of uses for this, morning eggs, use in breading, add some heat to gravies, in chili, sauces, in cornbread or flat breads and a whole bunch of other things. I've been mixing it in with cottage cheese to give my snack a bit more zip. It's good there are a lot of places to use it because a pound of Jalapeno powder is quite a lot, a bag like this will last you a long time!This stuff looks like it is expensive compared to fresh peppers, but remember that since this is a dry powder, probably quite a few pounds of fresh peppers went into making it, so I think the price is right.
