Werner D1220-2 Extension-ladders, Foot, 20 feet, No Color

When a piece of siding came loose from the second story of my house, I knew it was time to finally give in and buy a ladder. I knew I needed a larger extension ladder, and I also knew that I would have trouble getting it home in (on) my car. So I did what I usually do when I need something, I searched online. I was bemused by Amazon having several ladders available with free shipping, and placed an order.A few days later, a private contracted shipping company called to say they had my ladder and needed to arrange delivery. I received the ladder the next day, in great condition, and made my repair in a few minutes.This ladder is sturdy, well made, and is light enough to move around without too much difficulty. A great buy, at a great price, delivered to my front door without shipping costs added to the price.

Great to see so many other reviewers jumping on this deal for the same reasons as mine. I have always needed a serious ladder to take care of the house - cleaning gutters, hanging lights, painting windows, cleaning siding, etc. Could not solve the problem of how to buy and get one home until I hit upon the idea of ordering from Amazon. Needing this as soon as to finish my roof project it arrived with just a few days. No damage whatsoever. Only weighing in at around the 26 Lbs it is easy to move around and the attached rope is flawless in sliding the extension up and back down. I weigh 186Lbs and was standing about 12 feet up and this ladder did not move at all in climbing up and down. None of that frightening `swaying` I do not feel at all comfortable working on ladders but this one I do feel secure. All round excellent ladder with good solid feet.

The Werner 28 footer is my workhorse ladder around the house and yard. Had it for years, still in great shape (although it has been through thick and thin with me). I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I'll be adding leveler feet soon to better accommodate my yard's slopes. Weight is ok, very stable even at full extension - and 28 ft is quite some height...

I suspected from the reviews I read before buying this 28-foot, 225-lb duty ladder was that Werner was trying to dump damaged ladders through Amazon, betting on the reluctance of most customers to return such a large item. So I wasn't surprised when mine arrived damaged. The man on the unmarked delivery truck seemed careful, and the ladder had been wrapped in cardboard, etc., from which I later concluded that shipping had not been the problem. Although some of the metal had actually been cut through (the impact to cause such damage must have been tremendous!) and one of the legs was slightly bent and another visibly bent, I felt I could still use the ladder to work on my house and, yes, because I needed it for a current project I was reluctant to send it back. I have extended it fully and climbed it a couple of times without incident. They say that you should never use a damaged ladder, but I think you can if you have some engineering sense and know something about the stresses in structures, etc. These damaged ladders are certainly not for the professional or for anyone without a good mechanical sense, but they are fine for someone like me, who can make do. I justify my rating of one star by the severity of the damage.

I don’t have a pickup and I’m new in town so I ordered this ladder. Couple days later I noticed that I could get the same thing for less than HALF price at Home Depot. I figured I’d wait till I knew someone with a pickup truck or someone where I could borrow a ladder. I tried to cancel this order for THREE days. Nothing would go through. Finally on the fourth day I checked Amazon and it said; shipped and then it said, we can cancel your order. Their message also said that they would try to intercepted it (which they didn’t) or I could send it back once I received it. What to do? Drag at 5 miles to UPS? Look for an Uber with a pickup? I finally did what they wanted and said screw it I’ll try it out. I’m a 64-year-old female and I was able to kind of wrestle it around. It had to be at least 3 1/2 feet away from the wall, not extended, or it would tip backwards. Trying to get it level it slid and scratch the paint On the outside of my house.Not impressed. I gave it one star for being lighter weight than most and I’ll give it one star because the steps will lineup when it’s not extended all the way to give more foot room. I’ll also give it one star because I can step on it without my knees hitting any steps above. But I take away a star because I don’t trust it from tipping sideways, And take away two more stars from these people not allowing me to cancel it before they shipped it.
