Katana at Super Hero High (DC Super Hero Girls) (DC Super Hero Girls, 4) Hardcover – July 4, 2017

I really enjoyed this. Katana is a very different personality than the other three supers whose books came before her, and it is really good to see this caught for girls to understand that every personality type can do courageous and kind things that make a difference in the world, and while everyone is unique and comes from their own backgrounds they can come together to do amazing things.This series is one of my favorites. It lets the girls be girls and discover their own selves for themselves. Way too often writers try to force through whatever the social agenda flavor of the month is or try and push adult or non age appropriate subject matter to try and make themselves popular and they do a huge disservice to girls when they do it. This series is all about each super discovering who their best self really is, learning how to balance independence and friendship and family, figuring out how to know what is right and good for themselves, and overcoming failures and fears and hardships in positive ways. It is a series all about becoming. It is so delightful to read books that are so encouraging of girls and instructive on such quality characteristics as hard work, compassion, intelligence, courage, and hope. This world really needs more series like this one out there. Ones like this show true girl power.

I have read all the Super Hero Girls books from Wonder Woman to Katana, and I found them to be very enjoyable. Once again, Lisa Yee did a fantastic job with the storyline which mainly revolved around sword-wielding Katana. I couldn't put the book down because it was filled with suspense, some humor and a lot of action. I 100% recommend Katana at Super Hero High to anyone who loves reading about female heroines. I can't wait for the next book in the series!!!

My 8 year old daughter loved this story and I think it was her favorite so far out of the Super Hero High books. It is a neat tale about the relationship between Katana and her grandmother. She goes on a lot of adventures as the story unfolds about the samurai legends and swords. My daughter likes to read these books herself and then have her father and I read them to her. Lisa Yee does a great job with these books. We've loved all of them. They encourage young girls to read and feel confident and strong. Each super hero has her own special strengths and weaknesses and the character has a lot of growth throughout the book.

Good addition to the series. Katana is not a character I know well, and in the series she is one of the more quiet ones. I liked getting to know more of her story. I think these can be read in any order, and I love that they highlight one character in particular in each book. But when you read them in order, you do understand the references to past events better.
