Great headlampGot this on a deal and I must say that I am very pleased, it will be great addition to my camping/hiking, geological study, and car maintenance kit. Chose this brand as my father who has the 400 series highly recommended them and I must say that I agree with his choice.The strap is comfortable and the weight of the 500 series over the 400 series is a little higher but certainly not uncomfortable. The 500 series I purchased has a weight of 100.04 grams or 3.529 ounces which is fine considering its long battery life and ruggedness.The straps are very easy to adjust to your comfort level even without having to take it off which is perfect for a hike. The lights are naturally on a slight downward angle due to how the housing is shaped but the lamp does also have a nice amount of angling in the strap mount itself which is a nice feature.The buttons are little wonky at first and can take some getting used to but fine once you understand them. The ability to lock out the lamp is great as it prevents it from turning on in your pack or on any flights. I am a very big fan of the red light and the quick tap to max brightness ability, these are great for night hikes and setting up camp or even using as a lamp in the tent.The brightness of the lamp is very nice as well. I love having a range of brightness that I can set for each different mode. At the brightest the 500 lumen claim is very believable and is great for caves.This high level of functionality is great for my uses as this will aid me in my studies and personal work.Overall I am very pleased with this lamp and I am excited to be able to use it on my travels and projects.

This is really well designed. I was a little leery of the single-tap to change brightness, and it is occasionally the only thing that I have an issue with, but it's minor and if you're careful about it, it's very handy. The brightness is great, the battery life is great, the lock mechanism is really well thought out, the flexibility is fantastic and the less commonly used light options are just hard enough to use that you don't wind up with them accidentally all the time, but can find them quickly and intuitively when you need them.And this thing has been a blessing as I'm older and I tend to need something to shed some extra light on lots of the things I'm doing. Granted ANY light could do this, but I'm very happy with this selection.I was also amused to find out my daughter- who has another light- was like "Oooo! Black diamond! I want one of theirs!" I don't understand this since she bought the one she has, but maybe she's not as amazing of a product researcher as I am since I bought this as my first ever headlight. :)

This is a must buy, quality is good, brightness options are great - you can dim it, one tap bright, lock it so it doesn't go dead on accident and you can recharge the battery. Headband strap adjusts, it has multiple functionalities - we take these hunting, camping and use them around the house.

Great headlamp, easy to operate and very light. Good battery life, bright, good field of view.

I really like this headlamp. The battery life is great. The way you adjust the brightness is great. Hold the right button down and it gets brighter until it flashes, that means it's at its brightest, hold it again and it dims until it flashes, now it's at its dimmest. That works on all 3 modes, spot, flood and color led. Red, blue and green leds are a pretty cool feature, although I can't think of a reason for using blue and green, I still like having them. Even the band is pretty decent. The one thing I don't like, I really don't like. There's a feature that lets you swipe from back to front on the ride side of the lamp to insanely turn the brightness on full. Whoever came up with this idea has probably never worn a headlamp for more than a few minutes. In the 2 weeks I've owned this lamp I've used that feature 1 time, however, I've accidentally used it and blinded myself about a hundred times. Every time I adjust it, I accidentally turn it on and fry my retinas. Unfortunately there's no way to turn this feature off. I'm sure in certain situations this feature would come in handy, not for me though.

I can’t say enough good things about this headlamp. Great quality, extremely bright, and easy to use. Some may think it’s a little pricey but like my daddy used to say, “You pay for what you get!” Highly recommend this light.
