Gilt bronze. Just under 1" height. Central floral motif, repeated on the edges. Foliate designs were favored by Vikings and incorporated into about half of heart pendants. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Professionally refurbished with the gold restored for contemporary wear.
