Distressingly Distressed. Still a good hat.
My old hat (made by Goorin Bros) needed to be retired, it was falling apart after fifteen years of near constant used through all kinds of weather and work. It has even been chewed on by a puppy.I had my trepidations about ordering something like this online, hard to tell the quality of material or if it will even fit properly. Glad I took the chance. Absolutely love this hat. It does fit and is extremely comfortable AND sturdy.The only thing I don't like is this stupid tacky pre-distressed fad. The fun part about an old hat is each mark has a story and a memory and is evidence of a life well lived. Tearing threads out on purpose only shortens the lifespan of any garment(not to mention the tears are in the wrong place. Do you see any holes in the upper portion of the bill on my old hat? No. Because that is a stupid place for them to appear unless your goal is to suggest the imagined previous owner survived a meteor shower.)Still, that isn't enough for me to give less than five stars. I just hope this fad dies in the next 10 or 15 years when it's time to buy a new hat.
