I've tried out many phone holders in my cars and never found one that checked all the boxes. This one seems to.I just bought a 2021 Acura and was surprised that it had an in-dash CD player - something that I wouldn't use. So when I was looking for phone holders this one caught my eye since it could be mounted using the CD slot, but what was really appealing was the fact that it was so adjustable. I was looking at another holder that utilized the CD slot but I was concerned that it would block my lower in-dash screen. This one appeared to not have that problem so I went for it.The adjustability of this is great. I use the CD slot and was able to easily adjust the phone cradle so that it would not obstruct anything important. I saw that it also came with an alternate mounting mechanism - that being an attachment that would be used to mount it on an air vent. The CD slot worked best for me although after trying out the air-vent mount it seemed to be way better than any similar holders I've used in the past.If I have one complaint it's that this holder rattles a bit - but only when there is no phone attached to it. When the phone is there it's quiet, although it does shake a little. I noticed that mentioned in a prior review but when you think about it, it has to have some give to it - for the same reason that skyscrapers sway in the wind.So once the phone is mounted it's not going anywhere and it's held in place very securely, which is what we all want.Whether you have a in-dash CD player or plan to mount this on an air vent, it's a great choice.

Just purchased a few days ago and this is working for me so far. I don’t anticipate this being returned. Most important note: this doesn’t block the view of my OEM screen. The ability to slide the holder up/down, go from landscape to portrait is effortless and very stable either way. The lockdown to the CD player is tight and holding firm, looking forward to seeing how this works long term. The sides that hold the phone in place are firm too. I’ve seen minimal bounce while driving so, not an issue for me. Overall, I’m liking this. As a Subaru OB owner (‘16, Limited,) it doesn’t have many locations to mount a phone holder. I no longer use the CD player so this is a win-win. I’ll purchase this again if I have but the cost was minimal (Prime Day) but I’d buy it a regular price if I need to again.

I purchased this mount because I did not want to block any air vents in my 2015 Volvo S60. I had concerns with the cantilevered arm, but that has proven to be solid and not presenting any problems or weaknesses. I was able to position the phone so it only blocks the emergency flasher switch from the drivers seat. The phone is nice and steady. I can see and operate the phone just fine.The phone release is not ideal being located on the back and stiff to operate. I have to press on the touch sensitive phone screen to release the phone, a problem if the screen is active. Fortunately, this is mitigated by the curve on the side tabs. It holds by S21 with Defender case snugly but loos enough I can lift the phone out of the mount without having to push the release tab.The CD player slot is angled a bit to make inserting CDs easier. This is not the best surface to wedge the mount into, resulting in some movement of the mount. This movement is not great enough to degrade phone operation.Curious note, the mount tends to rattle a bit without the phone in it while driving. I pretty much need to have the phone in the mount when ever I am driving.

I’ve been through way too many mounts. I bought this one in December 2022 and I am happy to report that as of July 2025, it remains one of the best purchases I’ve made for my car. This amount is solid. It’s flexible. It doesn’t leave any residue behind. It makes use out of my outdated CD player and works better than any amount I have ever tried… ever.I like it so much that recently I wanted to purchase a new charger for my phone that is MagSafe. My only criteria was that it works with this mount. I ran into a little trouble, but it’s not these guys fault. Anyway, long story short if you want to never have to buy a phone holder again for your car and you have a CD player, look no further. Don’t think twice. It’s well worth the money

Look, the adjustability of the design is what makes this holder stand out and what makes it appealing to many of us. My car has very limited mounting options and the CD slot is about it. However, an actually sturdy CD mount puts the phone too low and it interferes with the shifter and some of the buttons I need. So I got this so I could mount it in the slot but get the phone up higher which this does.The problem is that the little slider that the ball mount is part of wobbles. It will always wobble as it has slop in the mechanism as part of the design and it can't be tightened.This holder is currently $15, not worth returning and frankly there isn't another option that I think would work much better but... I'm not dealing with the amount of crazy wobble that this thing has in it's current form, not even for a drive around the block!So for my needs, I set it where I need it in my car and I super glued the ball/adjustable mechanism slider in place solid. It is no longer adjustable but guess what, has no wobble anymore. IF that will work for you then maybe consider getting this despite the design flaw, otherwise you have to weigh my review against the hundreds that rave about how "Sturdy" and "Solid" this mount is. I don't know what to tell you, it isn't :/

This was the fourth phone holder I’ve tried in my quest to get my phone out of the cup holder, especially when using gps . I took it on a trial run today and it’s a keeper! Meets my needs for a holder that accommodates my wallet phone cover, leaves charging port free, and provides a sturdy, stable mount that stays positioned where you put it. Easy to install in the CD player and easy to adjust. Here’s to safer driving!
