Place your Can Opener on top of the can with its rim positioned in the groove between the blade and the gear. 2. With the can on a flat surface, press the Button for about one second and release. The Can Opener starts to cut the can. 3. When the cutting has completed, press the Button immediately to reverse the Cutter. 4. Make sure the Cutter resets to the start position and the motor stops. Then, lift the Can Opener off the can. For your convenience, a magnet in the center of the can opner will pick up the lid as well. Trouble Shooting: 1.if the batteries are depleted and the can opener is still on the can, you will not be able to remove it by pressing the button. In this case, you will need to replace the batteries with a new set of batteries. 2.The magnet in the center of the can opener will often pick up the can lide and remove it. If the magnet doesn't hold, you may need carefully lift the lid off by hand. Please note the blade cut around the lid will be very fine and may not be immediately obvious. NOTE: The can opener will not open rimless cans or cans with odd corners.
