Minecraft: Mobestiary

My 8 year great-grandson thinks it’s great because it shows him secrets of Minecraft. It’s definitely good quality. Super nice book. Found wrong with it. Would purchase again.

If you like lore and depth in your games, this is the guide for you! All the mobs included in it are well documented and illustrated. There were quite a few nuggets about each one that many probably weren’t aware of. I’m a huge Minecraft nerd and yet I learned quite a few new things.My only complaint is that there have been quite a few mobs added to the game since this was released which weren’t included for obvious reasons. That’s on me for not verifying the publishing date first. I would love it if they would publish an updated version of this with the new mobs since 2017. Such as:BeesDrownedHoglinsPandasPiglinsPillagersRavengersStraysStriders*Axolotols, Glow Squid, Goats, and the Warden will be added soon as well.Also breeding mechanics for Villagers and spawn mechanics Cats have changed since this was released.

My son loves it and at 7 dollars when I picked it up, it was great.

This book is long outdated and many mobs that exist now are not present. The enjoyment here comes from the artist's great monochromatic sketches of Minecraft beasties. There is useful information about the mobs that are present, though told from an in-world perspective, as if an inhabitant of the MC world was writing a field guide. While i find this annoying, others may find it charming. All in all, a decent ride.

Until I picked up my son's copy of this book, I had never encountered a modern book with such high grammar and vocabulary standards. Surprisingly, it is about video games, a topic I usually find vapid. The command of vocabulary and grammar, along with the humorous use of flowery language, surpasses that of most school graduates and could be used in an English class.I applaud Alex Wiltshire's writing and will seek out his other works.
