Nice. big sharp screen. Works fine. Just do need to be able to get a spare stylus as you are borked without it.
Very happy with it. just a couple of things that could be better.I wanted it for and largely use it for technical PDFs. Its an inch short of A4 so basically it is A4 usable area.So it nice and big the screen is sharp with a good resolution (Max Carta 2200x1650). 16 grey levels. (no back light)Responsive given that its Eink. Although there is the occasional stall/jitter (not even a few seconds but enough to make you double click) it has never locked up.A nice set of zoom options (incidental the manual does not say so but you can drag the screen when zoomed in).Works with indexed PDFs and adds bookmarks and notes to that itself. You can also scribble/draw over the page which is very good. Minor issue is you can only delete an entire object (pen down to pen up) it wont erase the middle of a line. But it intended for annotating not as a drawing tool as such.My other issues is: The Stylus is a requirement, useless without it and spares do not seem easy to find. Oh and HTML handling is quite poor but its android so a better app may be available. I could not get the web browser, which is pretty good given its grey scale Eink, to see an internal file.

Great Large Format E-Ink Reader - very happy!
I have been waiting for a large format e-ink reader for a while now, so I was pleased when this product came to the market. I use it mainly to view and make notes on technical (engineering) magazines, but I also use to to read all my other books. I love the fact that I can read PDF files too, so this very useful for when I am studying. The screen is crispy, bold and easy to read - and unlike a tablet does not hurt my eyes after a while. I also bought the Boox Max because of the really long battery life, which means that I can go weeks without having to charge it - so therefore I can pick it up at any time and be confident that it won't run out of battery before I can charge it up again. The whole unit is very lightweight and the controls are easy to use and it is easy to navigate around the menu system to find books. Also loading books and files onto the Boox Max is a doddle, just plug it into a PC USB port and it acts like a HDD, so you can just drag files over.I also like the feel of the stylus and the paper like feel that you get when you are writing notes onto the screen. It is great for taking notes and highlighting text. There are many other features of the Boox Max, which I am sure I will discover as I go along, but all in all - this is a great product and will help me loads in my professional and academic careers.

Excellent quality
Occasional glitch such as foreign keyboard characters even on english making entering text really difficult but fantastic for reading books, pisses all over a "normal tablet!" no eye strain and no 4x6" crappy sized screen like pointless kindles

A bit expensive but large screen size very useful if you have poor eye sight like I have
A bit expensive but large screen size very useful if you have poor eye sight like I have.Slightly slow page change time but worth it to have 100s of books on one device.
