Authentic Miso Paste - A Must-Have for Japanese cooking!
I recently had the pleasure of trying the Hikari Miso Paste, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. As a fan of Japanese cuisine, I always strive to recreate the authentic flavours of traditional dishes at home, and this miso paste truly delivered.First and foremost, the authenticity of this product is unparalleled. Hikari is renowned as the market leader in Japan, and it's easy to understand why. The miso paste has a rich, deep flavour that is unmistakably Japanese. It's the perfect balance of salty, savoury, and slightly sweet notes that are essential for creating authentic Japanese dishes. The texture of the paste is smooth and velvety, making it incredibly easy to work with. Whether you're using it to make miso soup, marinades, dressings, or glazes, the consistency is spot-on. It dissolves effortlessly, blending seamlessly with other ingredients and ensuring a consistent flavour throughout the dish. One of the things I appreciate most about Hikari Miso Paste is its versatility. It's not just limited to miso soup (although it does make an exceptional one!). I've used it to add depth and complexity to various recipes, including stir-fries, noodle dishes, and even as a spread on sandwiches. The possibilities are endless, and it truly elevates the taste of any dish it touches.Another aspect worth mentioning is the quality of the ingredients used. Hikari takes pride in sourcing premium ingredients and using traditional fermentation methods, resulting in a superior miso paste. It's free from any artificial additives or preservatives, ensuring a clean and pure flavour that stays true to its roots.Lastly, I must applaud the packaging. The resealable tub keeps the miso paste fresh for a long time, maintaining its flavour and aroma. The size options available are also convenient, catering to both occasional users and avid Japanese food enthusiasts. In conclusion, if you're looking for an authentic and flavourful miso paste for your Japanese dishes, Hikari Miso Paste is an absolute must-have. Its rich taste, smooth texture, and versatility make it a standout product. Whether you're a seasoned chef or a home cook eager to explore Japanese cuisine, this miso paste will undoubtedly elevate your culinary creations. I highly recommend it without any hesitation!

*My little gem*
Although I've always eaten quite healthily, I was hospitalised last year suffering from stomach issues and advised to consume more peppermint tea, a little organic coconut cream in dishes and fermented foods. This is when I came across organic Miso and thought I'd give it a try.Such an amazing flavour, gives so much depth to even stir-fried vegetables..so healthy too. The balance is just right, so no need for processed soy sauces for me any more. It's quite delicious ....yes, I can honestly say it has the wow factor for me and you can tell it's the good stuff, unprocessed...with its light colour and delicious flavour...it blends and dissolves well when cookingThis is my new cook buddy I'll be buying over and over from now on.I've been using this mostly in stir-fry dishes, as a soup starter, and my husband even mixed veg and chicken and added some miso to cook in a dish within our dry-fryer. Personally, don't thinkthere was a need to add more soy or salt I add 2 teaspoons of Miso paste to my dishes for 2 people, which is fine for us, not too salty either. Yesterday I fried onions, peppers and mushrooms in a little olive oil, then added crushed garlic, chopped corriander, 2 teaspoons of Miso paste, small cauliflower florets, shavings of carrot and courgette, mixed well until cooked on a low heat. We ate with oven chicken breast/tuna steaks.....how delicious! I felt I was sitting in a Japanese restaurant having tea....I even fridged the leftovers for today and ate as a hot snack lunchtime with grated cheese crisped on top....yummy.Dont forget to keep lidded and refrigerated for freshness after every use. This giant tub of miso will last a good time, even though we can't leave it alone in our house...it comes out every mealtime. Bet it would richen and enhance curries, pies, lasagne or bolognese a treatIt is expensive, but work out just how many bottles of salty, processed soy sauce you buy a month....you WILL NOT BE SORRY PURCHASING THIS LITTLE GEM **** ๐

More of a vegetable soup
Iv been trying different Japanese misos and this brand is NO1 in Japan hence my purchaseThis miso is as easy to make as all the rest as there is no deviation in prep and timeThe flavours are suttle and personally would be a very good base for an all vegetarian dish...I made this using chicken stock and the miso was mild in flavourSOIf you mixed with vegetable stock I don't think it's going to have a lot of flavour unless you doubled the recommended TBSthat's my opinion remember TRY it's not dear and 750g is a lot to experiment with๐Just made a batch now 29/06/24 and this has to be my favorite... really ๐๐

Chefโs secret.
I like this Miso paste. I use it in soup or stew to add a special flavour and enhance the experience of a Japanese or Chinese cuisine. For some its strong flavour can be considered a little salty. But when mixed in with some vegetables to make a soup for example there really is no need to add any other flavour.I have had a smattering of it on toast and it goes well with noodles that have no flavour sachets with them. Adds an enhanced touch to tinned soup andThose frozen meals. Goes well with a plate of rice , just add a teaspoonful and a little hot water. It can be an acquired taste just like marmite etc.a little goes a long way!!
