Works Great - Not silent in operation, would be worried about kids breaking them but no complaints!
Having purchased a Honeywell Evohome kit elsewhere, I found myself in need of further Radiator valves. I bought a couple on here to top off to the required number.Initial impressions are that they might be a bit delicate, so I would worry about kids running around near radiators pulling at them, or accidentally knocking them when walking past - especially with the screen tilted out.Saying that, they work well. It took me a while to fit the first one - Tip: Don't just screw them on, unclip the bottom section, screw that onto the radiator, and then push the valve onto the bit you've just screwed on. I'm no plumber, but this is honestly a 20 second job per radiator at the most - assuming you already have standard thermostatic valves already (these just unscrew to make way for these. If you don't, you'll need to bleed your radiators)Pairing is easy with the Evohome control panel. I had concerns about range, we live in a 200 year old house with solid walls. Even the furthest away radiators keep a good connection to the base unit.As these adjust the temperature automatically they aren't silent. You will hear a high pitched whine when the motor inside starts adjusting your radiator according to the temperature/your schedule. You soon get used to this, and all but the lightest of sleepers/nervous of dogs won't be bothered by it.You can also pair these with a separate room stat if the radiator is to be behind a sofa so the temperature is more accurate.Battery life is meant to be in the years - but simple to change when they run out. They take standard AA's. Time will tell how they fare. All in all, no complaints. Really pleased to be able to zone each room of the house independently!

Efficient and Convenient Heating Solution
In my experience, this kit significantly enhances home heating efficiency. It's easy to use, thanks to its intuitive smart phone interface. The ability to control individual radiators wirelessly is a game changer, allowing for personalized temperature settings in different rooms. The system integrated smoothly with our heating setup, and so far has worked reliably. It's not a cheap investment especially in bigger homes that might need 8+ TRVs, but I'd not be without it now.

Excellent reliable valve to provide room by room discrete control.
I have 16 of these devices throughout my reasonable sized house (5 beds, 2500 ft2). Before I installed Evohome, I was limited to heating rooms en-mass via regular central thermostat and rad controls. With the Evohome solution I am able to control each room discretely, according to usage which has reduced our gas consumption significantly (and made the house more comfortable to boot).Observations on these valves in particular:1. They can be configured to detect a rapid drop in temperature (such as when a window is opened) and close down heating to prevent energy wastage.2. They have local override, which may be useful to make your guests more comfortable, but can be locked out (as I have done) to prevent small fingers from fiddling with them.3. During operation they do make a mechanical noise from time to time. This may initially disturb a light sleeper if heating is operating at night - or in our case early morning when the rooms are warming up. We have quickly become acclimatised to this noise and it doesn't bother us.4. Batteries tend to last about a year, and whilst they do alert you when batteries are low, consumption is different from rad to rad and room to room - rather than change batteries piece meal, I have decided to make a day of changing all the batteries once a year (Amazon basic alkaline batteries are great).5. Radio range is pretty good, despite the house being quite big I don't have any issues with them losing connection to the hub which is located in the middle of the ground floor (we have quite thick walls and lots of steel in the extension)6. One device did manage to get itself into a mess - it tightened the actuator on the rad value to the point at which it couldn't release it. This was identified by the radiator not warming when it was expected to. I solved it by removing the head and manually releasing it. It hasn't had any further problems after doing this.7. The associated controls (Evohome touch) isn't cleaner friendly, and until I had educated our cleaner I would find random rooms were unexpectedly hot or cold - it was as a result of her running a duster across the screen and pressing buttons randomly.

THE replacement thermostatic radiator valve
An outstanding very well built and superbly designed piece of kit which really comes into its own when used with the EVOHOME controller set up to your boiler. Whilst not cheapest solution, the Honeywell EVOHOME system is certainly the most highly configurable, user friendly and effective multi zoned heating management solution on the market. If you can learn to close doors and really only heat the rooms you use - it's impossible not to be impressed with the efficacy of the system and the savings you'll ultimately make - should you open a window, it's smart enough to realise so and stop heating the area. If you have many radiators but actually only use a few at any one time you'll also notice that it achieves room heating more quickly because the heat only goes where it is needed. Add this to Honeywell's legendary optimum start and optimum algorithm you have a system that very quickly learns exactly when to start and end heating to give you exactly the temperature your require when you need it and nothing more. You will not be disappointed. Add the EVOHOME Mobile solution connected to your broadband router - and you can control any zone or indeed the entire system from you smartphone.
