He already had a play mat with attached arch and dangling toys but it was a little impractical - the arch would constantly flop over on to my baby or so that the toys were out of his reach, and the toys were attached with Velcro which meant that my baby often pulled them down as he was playing. I wanted something more stable and solid. I also wanted something more portable, so that I could place it over a softer mat or the moses basket etc. This product was perfect.I first found this on The Range website for £12.99, but unfortunately they were out of stock so I ordered it from Amazon at the higher price of £19.99.I'm really glad that I bought this. My 4 month old loves it. I notice that the description says suitable from 6 months but I think it's fine from 3-4 months. It's slightly smaller than I expected, but then it doesn't need to be any bigger. The toys are all easy to reach for baby. He uses it on his play mat, but it also fits over his changing mat/wedge (as seen in the photo I've added), so baby can play more comfortably. It doesn't topple over like the fabric one and the toys don't pull off. My baby can also use it when I'm holding him in a sitting position in front of it, or when he's on his tummy time prop pillow.The hanging toys are lovely and I like that you can detach them and move them to mix it up so that the same toys aren't always in the same place, or you can remove them completely and replace them with different toys - I add other things like his Oball rattle. Each hanging toy has two links, so you can add/remove links to change the height of the hanging toys. The spinning toys at the side also provide additional entertainment for my baby.The box that the play gym comes in is quite compact, so it is easy to take the play gym apart and put it back in the box for storage. It was quick and easy to put together - just a few clicks to snap the parts in to place.Overall an excellent play gym which I would recommend.UPDATE: my baby is now 7 months old and this play gym is still his favourite thing. Product arrived today and we absolutely LOVE it, as does our 9 week old baby!! It is nice and low meaning he can reach all of the toys, he had a good old play on it bashing and jabbering on with himself! And, as expected it doesn't take up much room at all! Much prefer this over these big pretty mats with fancy arches etc, that after a few days seem to get in the way! We were having trouble getting him to roll at 5 months but this seemed to have encouraged him as he tried to grab wheel at the side.
