Adorable Barbie in historical costume
My Fair Valentine is the third in the Valentine series and a Hallmark exclusive from 1997. She's simply perfect for a fan of Rococo fashion, and makes a great collectible doll.This brunette Barbie comes with her hair in a medium-sized updo, trimmed with a silk rose and side curls. She's got brown eyes and a natural facial screening--extra blush from her visit to Marie Antoinette's Petite Trianon. Her dress is the appropriate length for the occasion, as well--Rococo style country: satin bodice in mauve and teal with faux lacing, sheer chiffon sleeves with delicate lace trim. The skirt is just above ankle length and full: mauve moire fabric with a teal overskirt, and a patterned lace overlay trimmed with mauve ribbon bows. Her shoes are mauve booties, and her pearl earrings and ring complete her look.She has straight arms and bendable legs for easy posing. She'd make a great introductory doll for a budding collector, and a lovely addition to any historical or period fashion collector. I think she's super cute.

Modern special edition barbies just don’t hold a candle to these older ones. Without even taking her out of the box I could see that the quality of the materials is great. My mother in law loves her Mother’s Day present!

I like 18th c better
The dolls costume is18thc inspired, not 1830s, as the box claims. Thats ok with me, I like 18th c better. This is really a very nice classic doll.
