Perfect for tough to fit dogs!
This is a fantastic harness for pulling sports, particularly if you have a difficult to fit dog. No crazy measurements, and there's a lot of adjustability. My boy is lean, long, and deep chested, which makes him tough to fit in traditional x-back harnesses. This harness however is perfect! The snug neck keeps pressure off of his shoulders. It's adjustable, so I was able to fit it perfectly to his off-standard build without worrying about making a mistake in measuring for a custom harness. The length distributes the pressure evenly over a larger area without impeding his movement or breathing. Unlike other harnesses I've tried, it stays nicely centered even if he veers to the left or right. It really maximizes his pulling power, I noticed a difference from our old half harness on the very first run. While this is pricy, nearly double what most harnesses cost, it's worth every penny. Proper fit is so important for good performance and injury prevention. This harness does not need to go to the last rib like an x-back. The neck area is the most important for proper fit, you don't want that area to be too big! Nice and snug, with room for two fingers under the harness. Adjust the length so that the tug loop rests at the base of the tail when the dog is pulling. I found the size recommended to be accurate. There are also good videos about fit on YouTube.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE IT.
I love this harness, but more importantly, my dog loves it. The harness is very stiff and sturdy.I decided to look for a new harness when I went to take my dog for a run and he hid in the kitchen when he saw me get his old harness out. I was a little confuse on the sizing because of all of the different websites suggestions and the reviews from other buyers. I took the advice of one of the reviewers on Amazon in the measuring and I ordered a size 8 for my German Shorthaired Pointer based on the neck measurements as they directed. When I got it, the 8 was definitely too large. I then measured my dog again and sent the measurements to an online retailer who told me to get a size 6 based on the measurements. This seemed too small so I split the difference and I ordered the size 7. The 7 fits very well. When we went out on our run I noticed my dog was more relaxed. I also bought the running belt which was much more comfortable than I expected, I hardly noticed I was wearing it. I definitely recommend looking into both the running belt and a bungee leash. With a combo of all three my run was so much more enjoyable than it has been in the past. My dog was able to jump over puddles and sidewalk grates without pulling me off balance, and if I tripped I didn't have to worry about him pulling me over or me falling on top of him. Just for reference, I have a 60 lb lean muscled GSP. I measure 19" at the base of the neck. The tape measure was about 2 fingers width from the top of his sternum bone.

Size Chart issues
The Non-Stop size chart only offers neck measurements. I ordered a size 4 for my 20lb little dog (14" back length) because his neck at the base measures 13.5". According to the size chart on their website, size 3 is for up to 13" and size 4 is for 13 - 14.2". Well - the foam supports that run along the back are literally as long as my little guy's back - there's no adjusting this to fit. I'm skeptical of sizing down because I don't want it to ride too high on his neck. A size chart with recommended back lengths would be really great.Aside from the fit, it seems like a nice (if bulky) harness. It's more strap and complication and weight than I really want - will be looking into getting a Zero DC Faster for him.

WARNING SIZE INSTRUCTION ARE WRONG – Here is new instructions per manufacturer
The manufacturer is aware of sizing instruction problems. They are remaking their website, rewriting their sizing instructions and changing the way they list sizes. In the meantime, there is a work around . . . see the graphic I made. It’s worth it because these are great adjustable harnesses.-=The problem=-The sizing guide on their website for the Freemotion Harness, says you’ll need the base of neck measurement. In their online shopping cart it asks for max head width & neck measurement. None of these are correct, not base of neck, neck or max head will give you the proper size harness. You need base of neck to top of breastbone measurement.**The solution**Measure your dog's base of neck to the top of breastbone. The tape measure should makes a V shape at the bottom and touch the top of breastbone. This breastbone measurement should be an inch or so larger than a base of neck only measurement on bigger dogs. When picking your size, use that breastbone measurement as the max head width and you should get a properly fitted harness. The max head width will be the actual harness size opening.**Size tips**The size 7 I got was 19.5 inchesManufacturer says size 8 is 22 inchesManufacturer says size 9 is 23.5 inches-Example, our 72 lb Staffordshire Bull Terrier needs a size 9My dog’s measurements20” max head19" neck (where collar goes)22" base of neck23” base of neck to top of breastbone (This is actually the size you need to use as max head width)

Ranger looks comfortable in thiis harness and I love the fact it will keep his body, especially neck/spine healthy.
I received it yesterday and had to get my dog out on a short run to try it out. I own a border collie and the size 5 fit...and I was super happy he let me put it on him.I measured Ranger 2 times to make sure the size 5 was going to work according to the specs in the details.I took Ranger out again today for a short trail run just to see how it would go with the harness on trails. I absolutely love it and love that he isn't bothered by it and really seems to appear comfortable in it. I now plan on ordering the belt and tow line for myself.Ranger is only 13 months so our runs are short and only 2 or 3x a week. I love trail running and am happy he does too. I can't wait to see how the entire set up works. This is a wonderful product. I am lucky I was not in a rush to purchase just anything. I'm also happy I read about canicross, since I grew up racing xc. It is right up my ally.

Secure once on...
But can be a challenge to get it on. It could do with a couple of simple friction clips on the neck straps the same as it has on the lower body straps, just to make the on/off process a little easier. The guidance is to put it over pooch head with the neck hole rotated 90 degrees. Even with that approach, it's a close thing. Getting the correct size is obviously an important first consideration, and there's plenty of guidance on this.

Absolute Kaufempfehlung!!!
