watch the dimensions and intended usage, it's not as versatile as the description suggests
Measured twice and figured this was the adapter I needed. But it was a loose fit into my 2-1/4" shopvac end-attachments. It IS tapered on the OD of the smaller end, but unfortunately it is still too small for a good fit. Maybe it fits on true dust collection parts? But most of those seem to be 2.5", and 2-1/4" seems to be from the shopvac world. (but I'm not an expert)I didn't want to use tape to seal the adapter to the attachment, as the adapter and hose must be used on different attachments. Ultimately I decided to put 2 slices into the shopvac attachment inlet, with a hoseclamp to tighten it down. I found a good setting on the clamp that allows a snug but removable fit for this adapter. Putting this mod on my attachments (only 2-3 of them) makes this adapter useful for my needs.

Not tapered
These are not tapered so they don’t fit tight into your machine sawdust exhaust. I ended up duct taping them so they would work

not a reducer just 2 1/2 in dust port coupler
It must be a conspiracy not to be able to convert a 2 1/2 inch dust port to accept a 2 1/4 shop vac hose. This is the second adapter I have bought from them both prosiming to convert 2 1/2 into 2 1/4 and no such luck. The other I tried was the 2 1/4 splice
