What brand of sd card does it use

Samsung/Sandisk (up to 128GB) 100MB/s (U3) MicroSD Card is Highly Recommended for AKASO Brave 4 Pro 4K30fps Action Camera (Micro SD card is not included).

Does the remote turn on/off the camera, or does the camera need to already be on before using remote?

The camara needs to be manually turned on and the button on the controller is only used to record or take pictures. The Camara will turnoff automatically if not in use after a few minutes. I've yet to fully mess with my Camara so I'm not 100% sure that the control can turn it on.. but I have my doubts.
