It's an adapter, alright
And it's probably the best value-for-money purchase you can amke, if you need it. Works fine. The quality you'd expect. Nothing more to say.

Did not work.
It did not work. Had to go to local Staples and buy a DVI-D cable for $29 and what do you know??? That worked like a charm. Should have just bought a cable in the first place.

just what I needed, connecting a VGA cord in the very smallspace on the back, satisfied with the VGA adapter.

Does not work!
Does not convert the DVI-D digital signal to VGA analog as described.Also does not pass through the analog signal from a DVI-A or DVI-I because the 4 analog pins are missing.Tried 4 of the adapters with 2 different video cards and 2 different VGA monitors.

I now know why more than half the reviews are 1*
Something must be wrong with the adapter I received.Right DVI to VGA connection, but My HP is unable to detect the second monitor.
