I LOVE THIS BASEPLATE!!!
Although I’ve never needed to use the locating functionality of the hidden airtag compartment, I feel at ease knowing that if necessary I could locate my camera easily. The overall build quality is sturdy and strong. Its low profile and easy to install with the provided tool that provides extra security should it be stolen. I’ve had no issues with slippage from either the body or tripod attachment, and the added pads connected to the body’s side of the plate ensures not damage to the camera when in use.

Serious product or a novelty add-on - You decide .....
I have quite 3 bodies and many different lenses and I use AIRTAGs in the padded cases I store these items in in case they are lost or stolen. I saw this device and thought, what would I do if I had a body out of the case into the field and it were misplaced (hardly!) or stolen (more probably!). How would I locate it or help the authorities locate it. The more I thought about it, the more I like the idea. Although I realize it isn't a perfect solution, any thief worth their salt could overcome this device in matter of minutes, I didn't get it so much for theft deterrent as for locating the camera should I lay it down (for some unknown reason) and misplace it while in the field. It would allow me to quickly locate it within a close proximity and further if the camera is reported as lost and the network looks for it. Although I haven't yet tried that, I am planning on doing it soon. The plate is solid and mounts firmly. It has enough adjustment distance to allow the plate to be centered on just about any camera body. This plate design has external access to the AIRTAG compartment, which by the way isn't waterproof so be aware, by 4 very tiny #0000 Phillips screws. I would not recommend removing these in the field because if it were dropped, I think your chances of ever finding it is somewhere between never and none. When the AIRTAG creates a beeping sound, it is easily heard through the mounting plate. Unless the plate is closely inspected, there really isn't anything to indicate that there is an AIRTAG location device contained inside. When the camera using the AIRTAG ARCA plate is mounted on the tripod, there is no slop or looseness noticed. It holds firm and solid. Is this a serious product or a novelty add-on? Only you can decide, but I do find the thought of having a little more security surrounding my $3000 to $4000 camera / lens a bit comforting. Maybe just self-awareness of my surroundings better would be more beneficial but unless you got two sets of eyes, not sure how you're supposed to view the scene and camera settings at the same time you're to keep the 'watchful' eye out for trouble lurking. I for one find this item worth the price.

Should’ve bought this one first
I originally bought an offbrand one that had a really nice aluminum build quality, but it would not allow the AirTag to connect to any Apple device. This one cost a little bit more, but it built very similar and works perfectly. I should’ve gone with the known brand originally.

One design problem but still solid.
This is a solid plate that works well on my tripod. It has to do that or it wouldn’t be worth having. But you buy it for the AirTag holder. It fits great and I can still hear it if I set of the alarm. The down side is that the compartment that holds the AirTag is visible. Considering how often I have to change the AirTag battery (6 months) it would have been better to acces from the camera side and make the outside not have a visible compartment. All that said, I think it is the best option available today. RRS - maybe the next version you can hide the access tag inside?

Fits well and brings peace of mind
Brought with me on a trip abroad and brought good comfort knowing I could track my camera at all times. Plus it fits into many different tripod heads so I don’t have to worry about carrying brackets with me. Super convenient and sleek, matches the camera design of the Sony a7iii well.

Love it
Very sleek, easy to install, discreet. I put it on and never think about it. I haven't tried using my camera on a tripod yet, so I can't speak to that. Sturdy construction. I think it's a necessary accessory. I wish I had something similar I could put on each of my lenses. For those, I've taped an airtag on each of the lens hoods.
