we need to monitor 8 hours in a production plant is this unit capable?

We use this sound meter for accurate spot measurements in different locations. I believe this can be connected to a computer to log data, but we have not tried that, and a simple dosimeter/datalogger that is standalone is in my opinion much more convenient for continuous monitoring purposes.
