Changed from 3 to 5 stars
April 2023. Bees around my house were not attracted to this. They would fly around or above it, not even pausing to check it out. After a week I tried it without a jar attached, would clean it every night, and put it out again the next morning with fresh nectar. Still nothing. So, instead, I bought 2 dwarf bee balm plants, put them in separate containers, and since the first day, I have had a steady stream of at least 2 different types of bees and butterflies. I have a hummingbird feeder hanging near the plants. One hummingbird always stops to quickly check out the plants before going to the feeder.I find the plants are easier to care for, I don't have to clean jars and make nectar. I'll probably just recycle the bee feeder.------------------------Update September 2023. Changed my rating from 3 to 5 stars. The bee balm plants I had bought for the bees are no longer flowering for this season, so I decided to try the bee feeder again. The feeder I received has a black base, I am not sure if that wasn't bright enough to attract bees, so I placed it on the red top of an old hummingbird feeder I no longer use. Maybe that did the trick. I do not place the jar on top, just the feeder that I fill to the brim with sugar water. This is sitting on a balcony railing so too risky to use a glass jar. I am using the same sugar water solution I put in the hummingbird feeder on the other side of the deck instead of the heavier bee solution. The bees love it, full of bees all day long, even one of the hummingbirds will join the bees for a meal, but the bees now stay away from the hummingbird feeder. I bring it in each evening to wash and put it out again the next morning with fresh nectar. My balcony gets full sun all day and with the recent heat wave, and perhaps the hungry bees, I check it throughout the day and occasionally and top it off with more nectar as needed.-----------------------------------Update, 3 days later. After 3 days on my balcony without using the bottle my balcony was swarming with bees. So, I moved it to the lower deck this morning using the bottle as others have shown, and switched to a 1:1 sugar/water solution. I put a little foil at the opening, as another reviewer recommended, to keep bees from getting stuck inside the bottle. Didn't take long for the bees to find the new location.

Keeps my hummingbird feeders free of birds
I have put out 8 hummingbird feeders of various kinds. I was enjoying all the birds flying from feeder to feeder until I suddenly noticed bees. It's beginning of Sept here in New England and there are less pollen flowers in bloom.so I went online and did a search to learn how to detract bees. I tried the essential oils but the birds didn't like it. Another tract is to feed the bees a mixture of 1 to 1 sugar water. So used the top of a 5 gallon pail for a while until I found this cute little feeder. This works great set on top of the 5 gallon feeder. Its a very simple design and the bees seem to love it. You just need to supply any bottle that will fit, so I use a canning jar. Fill the jar with sugar/water mixture, put the feeder on top and simply turn over. The jar supplies the right amount of elixir so as not to overflow the feeder. Best part as it won't run out for a few days and the bees and hummingbirds are all happy. Thank you.

Texas Bees Are Happy!
Wow! This is amazing for our starving, drought-ridden Texas bees! I don't even have a bee hive, but the local bees were swarming my hummingbird feeders, so I decided to get them their own bee feeder! This woks amazing well! I used a piece of foil to cover the opening at the bottom and so far no bees have gotten inside or drowned! 🐝🐝🐝💖 I used 32 oz wide-mouth Mason jars and that size worked perfectly. Right now I am using a 1:1 sugar/water ratio since the bees have it so bad in Texas with all the flowers drying up. This is the best bee feeder I've found! A+++

A simple idea that works
Our patch of Mexican sunflowers has been a roaring success with Bumble Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, various other birds and chipmunks frequent visitors. The bee feeding station is my attempt to help the Bumble Bees. A snap to set up. Still am not sure they have found it.

No drowning bees
It works pretty well but, the V shaped hole needs protection, bees climb inside and drown, I cut a piece of 1/8 inch hardware cloth and used a soldering Iron to weld it in the V,Now it works good.

Easy to use beehive syrup feeder using wide mouth jar.
The media could not be loaded. I have 4 beehives and I used it for a community syrup feeder. The benefit I love the most is it uses a wide mouth canning jar ( 1/2 gal mason jar), so it lasts for 4-7 days with my beehives. The other benefit is that the bees can land on the top of the troff and suck up the syrup through the holes in the troff with their proboscis (tongue) without DROWNING. I rarely give 5 stars to products but this one deserves the credit.

This isn’t a screw type feeder
Considering it doesn’t have a screw top for the mason jar and the gaping hole that needs DIY foil, I would rather pay more and get one from a small business on the E platform.
