Fiberglass Repair and Construction Handbook
I have just purchased a 1980 vintage electric car which has a 100% fiberglass body. I have no experience with fiberglass in my past. I have not yet started to actually work with fiberglass, but I found the book to be very informative and very well laid out in a step-by-step building block manner, which made it very easy to understand.I would highly recommend this book.

Too basic
It was very simplistic and the level of information was extremely basic. The information was somewhat outdated (the only mention of carbon fiber consisted of two sentences) and the quality of the writing was the level of an eighth grader. I learned more watching a 10 minute You-tube video than I did reading this book.

I have a 1934 Ford 3-window coupe, building it as a replica of the racecar my Dad raced in the 50's. This book has helped a lot with the modifications I needed to do on the FG body I have, plus make some of the other small parts.

Unreadable
This book is nothing more than a series of unaddressed topics. They talk about many possible fiberglass repair situations but never quite get around to telling you how to fix them. Confusing photos. I know as much now as before I got this book. Ask a pint dealer or some old guy at Home Depot, you'll get better information.

Not much to say about it other than it works. Why do I need twelve more or five more or however many more.

It's basic and a good book to start
Although the plastic world is evolving everyday with new plastics coming on the market everyday the book sticks to basics which makes it in a way time independent. You will however not build a car, a boat or a bathtub with this book. The book handles only about the characteristics of fiberglass, how to handle it, lay it up, how to repair it but stays very superficial on the varieties of objects made from it. It explains quiet well the difference between epoxy resins and polyester resins and when and how to use them. In the exercises there is a lot of repetition however and the book could do with some more explanatory drawings and photographs. For the novice fiberglasser it's an OK book to start with.
